Cheers dynamic!

£480 well worth it though, also receive a couple extra mpg so nothing less.
Yep certainly is an S-Line.

Hahaha that made me laugh ! There is an interested buyer in other words "Give me a ring because i want to sell you this car and there is no other buyer"

Definitely agree with this. Just the salesman trying to get a sale. There is no other buyer. Even if there is, the 3.2 is not the way forward. :)

Cheers Scotty!

Dynamik: shame about Audi UK too ref temp guage! :-(
Hence I think the likes of Lexus and upcoming Skoda dealers are pretty good.
Local Skoda MD even wrote to me personally asking why I hadn't been back?
I wrote back with a list of issues (not link to warranty)
- and was trying my luck!
He gave me a free satnav map upgrade and alloy wheel dust caps - better than nothing :)

A4 3.2 gave me another missed call.
Their auto trader ad has a summary sheet (bog standard?) -
stating it had rear parking sensors?
So has the Audi been in an accident and new bumper without parking sensors?

Last edited:
I doubt it has been in an accident but HPI check it incase. The summary sheet may be applicable to the later models which have parking sensors standard.

This is the best one yet: Audi A4 2.0T FSI 211PS QUATTRO S LINE(SAT NAV LEATHER FSH) 5dr 2009

Get them to knock it down abit.
I know its a manual but everything else ticks the boxes. Manuals are fantastic with all that power and quattro and even better if you have a remap ! you are not too old for a Manual ! Have a test drive and see what you think.

Certainly spot-on!

But no, I had my fair share of manuals!

Had a is200 Lexus manual - hated the manual and got rid of it within 6months!

Don't want to make the same mistake again! :-(

4 things I need to think about if/when I find my Audi:

1. Taking car to dealer, get it health check and buy extended warranty
2. Buy some winter tyres/alloys
3. Remap
4. LPG

Questions: dealer warranty or 3rd party or save up?
What's the smallest alloys / spec that will fit (rim spec / pcd etc)?
What power can safely remap to (any other things to adjust)?
Worth / risk LPG (potential damage to engine)?

That S4 does look very good that is a possibility, but beware the road tax is £450 a year.
My wife's A5 Cabriolet come standard with parking sensors rear and its an S-Line Scottish. Or are you talking about front and rear ?
When you get your Audi take it for a Health Check and if it has done 5000 miles or more since its last service and oil change. Have another service and oil change.
If it is a quattro i don't think it is worth the extra money for winter tyres unless you live somewhere quite extreme like up a hill or something where all the snow is.
It would only be worth remapping the 2.0T and i advice you to go straight to Revo with it. Any big tuning company always give you safe remaps.Nothing else will need to be adjusted. I would avoid small dirty side-street garage who do it.
LPG is a huge risk and takes up the majority of your boot space so i would completely forget about that.
If you got warranty then i would get it from Audi.
Not sure about the wheels.

Cheers Dynamik.

Certainly only looked at pre-Mar2006 Audi s before due to tax capped -
until someone pointed out newer Audi s (2.0T) is only £200 tax :)

my Skoda health check was only £20.
but realised different dealers charged diff amounts.
Plus a 2 year Skoda extended warranty was £600.

how much are Audi healthchecks + warranty?
is the Audi breakdown cover platinum and worth having?
Did think about the AA parts n Labour (abt £250 - special offers abt £150)

is REVO the preferred option for Audi s?
i have a quote from a friend for £250 , but only maps it to 260bhp :-(

i have had 3 lpg cars.
scooby had the best lpg system (BRC) and 4 years no problems.
though i hate losing the spare wheel (so in boot space?)
but i may not go down this root if a remap can up the 2.0T quattro Tip from 37mpg to 40mpg? :)

Yeah i just taxed mine recently at £200
Not sure on the cost of a health check. Cant see it being more than £50 really. Not sure about the extended warranty. Give them a ring for a quote. https://www.audiextendedwarranty.co.uk/

Revo is a good option for VAG yes. Along with other big names Superchips, Apr..
Or you could get a DTUK Diesel Tuning box for Audi A4 - 8k 2.0l Tfsi
But im not sure what they put it up to.

260 BHP is good but £250 sounds cheap to say it takes a few hours to complete and the ECU has to be taken off etc.. I would rather go with a big company.

I prefer Revo because of the such big gain i got with my specific car and it is much bigger than any other company has said they will put it up to. 20000 Mile so far so good with it. I wouldn't even think about a LPG IMHO.
It will improve the mpg by a couple yes.

Take it your in the modding game then aren't you haha ? £1200 :L
Leeds is probably the biggest Audi i have visited to out of 17 different ones i have visited.
Whilst your at Leeds please can you check if there are any new S4's in the showroom with Super Sports seats full leather + nav and if so how much ?
Thanks in advance :)

AW - Sorry! :-(

Went in - spoke to reception - got a booklet of current stock - flipped thru it and left in mins!

Never modded a car before.
But I think I want to mod my the Audi to 300bhp :)
I like your 535d comparison - lol

Its fine :)
Only mod i have done is a remap.
Get a 2.0t and take it Revo like me. You will not regret it.
And yeah haha ! :)

Plenty of Manuals - and some auto s S-Line - but none to my spec.

It will have to be a game of patience!

As for winter tyres: It dosen't have to have snow. Its just better when temp below 7degrees.
My Scooby had no trouble going up snow - but coming down it was no better than a 2WD!

Just been reading up on HonestJohn:
Some interesting statements -
1. B7 are about 90% near their official MPG
2. B8 are only 70%+ :-(
3. B7 S-Line are shocking on ride
4. If u don't service your car at Audi - then forget about getting any help from them! :-(

In library now doing more research....

So are the Audi's more prone to Carbon build up?
What is this coil pack problem?
And Audi A4 drink more engine oil like water? eeeek!

Not many reviews on CarSurvey.org - but most of them love their A4s Quattros and say they are better than BMWs and more reliable!

I assume QS = Quattro?

Diesel is the one to go for (over petrol): More economical and faster!!!
I am still not sold on the noise and choppy ride - but I guess maybe I am NOT NORMAL and just shiver whenever I sit in a diesel car?

You have no loss if you get winter tyres. It will save the life on your summer tyres and if you sell the car and the winter tyres still have a decent amount on them then you can easily sell them on ebay. The Mpg is good if you take it normally but if you drive it hard then it will do about 28-32 Mpg. If you drive it like a complete idiot and max it out on every piece of round then expect 17-20 mpg.
If you don't service your car with Audi but its under warranty they have no choice but to repair it.
Carbon build up in the dpf ? my wife's a5 has never come up with message saying the dpf is blocked and she mainly does round town driving. If it does get blocked then just give it a good blast/run.
Dont know about the coil pack problem but the coil packs aren't expensive anyway.
The 2.0T a4 b8 drinks loads of oil. Mine has slurped about 10 Litres in 26 months 22000 miles of Castrol edge. A 4l bottle of castrol edge is £30. Its only oil, not as if it is fuel.
QS probably means quattro yes.
The diesel is more economical but it is allot different to a petrol. in general a performance car is petrol and rev higher and in most cases tend to be more fun. Petrols also sound better.
You seem very cautious about the Audi. Dont worry everything will be fine.

A4 S line's do not come with front or rear parking sensors as standard. It's an optional extra. I have neither on mine.

Also the 2.0TDi's are LESS economical than the petrols! I have the 2.0TDi in my A6 courtesy car and it is terrible only getting 32mpg combined!! Whilst my 2.0TFSi gets 43mpg combined!!!

If you are considering diesel, forget the 2.0 variants. Get a 3.0TDI!
240BHP standard and enough torque for anyone.
Get it remapped by REVO for even more.

u are as detail in your reply as u are in being very helpful, again - thks!

deffo not buying diesel - but was a thought.

coil packs might not be an issue now - since found this thread about a recall:
http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/a3-s3-sportback-8p-chassis/135306-coil-pack-recall.html
Interesting in that thread a reply about a 2.0T cambelt change?
can i confirm from B8 the 2.0T had cam chain?

as for carbon buildup.
its the petrol engines - but not sure if it only applies to U.S. cars?
Audi S5 4.2 Carbon build up issue? - PistonHeads

yes. I am cautious abt Audi s.
i know very little about car mechanics - so any probs i will need to pay.
so in the past i always buy japs or easier/cheaper to fix european cars (ford etc)
or buy with warranty (BMW).
audi s - always couldnt justify when Skoda / VW cheaper etc
but since having my Courtesy car, I was SOLD - i must have one now (toys and reliability etc gone out the windiw now - lol)

i must have at least rear parking sensors - and satnav!
i am terrible at parking and judging of space.
plus directions (hence satnav)!

got a diesel now - so want a petrol.
i have a 2010 Skoda Superb CR 170bhp - but its noisy / choppy ride (could be just me)!
but i believe people are saying the Diesels are the one to go for (economical and super quiet/smooth)?
but are Audi diesels tuned differently so smoother / quieter than my Superb?

i m just too petrolhead to stick with diesel.

will have to be a petrol Audi for me!

Have you seen

:)

cheers scotty.

would love a S4 and even had consider this one:

then remap it!
but tax at £400+ plus 19mpg(?) higher insurance -
i cant afford :-(

spoke to someone and he said dont get RS4 (engine problems), go for RS6 (or did he say S4/S6)?

Didn't know that about the parking sensors Scottish. When i see S-Lines in the showroom with parking sensors it doesn't say on the spec sheet as an optional extra parking sensors and the parking sensors on the wife's A5 are not an optional extra.
Scottish. Bare in mind that the A6 is allot bigger and heavier car than the A4 so will use more fuel even though it is a diesel.
Not worth remapping the S4 4.2 it will hardly make a difference. Tax and fuel will be a fortune though but if you can justify that then that's okay.
But remember, you can get an A4 b8 2.0t and REVO remap it and it will be faster than that b7 s4 and everything will be cheaper e.g tax, insurance etc..

Who was this someone you was speaking to may i ask ? Never heard of the Rs4 with engine problems. Just as long as they are serviced regularly there shouldn't be any problems.

Yeah I did consider that the A6 is abit bigger and heavier. On the plus side, I was surprised at how nippy the 177bhp 2.0TDi is!!! I had to check the paperwork as I thought it must be the 3.0TDI.
The brochure does say for the A4's that the parking sensors are extra. I at least wish mine at them at the rear. I was going to get them retrofitted but there is nobody that does it up here. Plus Audi is a wee bit on the steep side.

Scottish if you are unhappy and want them get them done. Even if Audi do them they will most likely be done properly and if not they will be corrected.

Well I was going to but they want £600 just for the back ones and thats WITHOUT them being painted. And they did they that they would use aftermarket ones.

What about Audi Specialists - surely only 1/2 the dealer labour fee?

Just gave it a quick wash :)
044

Just uploaded this photo and came across this one from a couple of months ago in Whitby. I don't know why but i think the car looks better when its parked on gravel like this.
027

I nearly fainted when i saw a just cleaned mint car of yours,

then the next pic shows it on dusty gravel - eeeek!
all that dust!

then panic over - its an old pic in whitby :)

Anyway, 1st pic - your private yard?
u got a collection of cars?

just nosey, how do u clean the Dynamik?

i 2 bucket wash, then wash.
if have time, clay, then wax with DoDo Juice!

Hahaha :p.
Doesnt look very good there because it is a grim day doesn't look that shiny.

The second picture it looks quite clean to say it travelled 120 Miles since it was cleaned at home.

The 1st pic is infront of our house which looks like this: 034

The first picture is the White Golf which is my sons and the Blue C1 directly behind the Dynamik is my other sons and in the corner next to the Citroen is the Wife's A5 which you cant see but looks like this in the summer:
030

And this in the winter:
003

Today i just gave it a quick wash ( 2 bucket method with grit guard)
First i rinse off with hosepipe.
Then clean the body (2 Bucket method with grit guard) using Meguiars Gold Class. Only got the stuff last week really impressed ! I always used Autoglym Shampoo before that.
then clean wheels and rinse them off then use chemical guys diablo wheel cleaner the red stuff. and rinse off.
Didnt use any tyre shine this week as i am only going to work and back in it.
Last Sunday i used Dodo Juice Lime Prime then used Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax and waxed all the Wheels + windows cleaned exhausts etc..

Am jealous u have all that private parking space!

wow thats a lot of snow!

this us in Jan2013, we went into Odeon at 5pm weather was damp, not a sign of snow...
then came out at 7:30pm and saw this (my Subaru was the free taxi that night):
BE64D042-7A59-494C-A778-79E3F3CB0BC5-1810-000003AF57D7FA0F_zps612532eb.jpg

even with 4wheel drive - roads were gridlock,
with stuck cars or accidents.
didnt get home til 1am!!!

anyway, how did u make pics so small to see?!!!
even me clicking on it on phone, its teeny :-(
