I know I've ordered the adaptor now but what do you do about the sensors attached to the air box?

By sensor I guess you mean the ICM (ignition control module)... I believe most people just cable tie this out the way... its only early 1.8t's that have this (AGU's)

<tuffty/>

Hahaha I'm such a noob :p

Have you got a build thread going yet mate?

I think you should get one started if not.....Tim needs some competition with regards to the most entertaining build thread of the year. I do love both of your enthusiasms and eagerness to mod your A3s! :)

I have a build thread, Im not an idiot I've just not got much machanical experiance, I don't get allot of leave per year so I've been a little impatient.

I must admit this has been pretty amusing lol

Having a go at stuff yourself is very commendable , even those with a huge wealth of knowledge started somewhere ;)
research and patience is also a virtue ;)
keep it up fella :D
baz

I'll do my best like Ive said before still learning, I drive over 500 miles every weekend in the car at the moment to see my family so I'm a little caustious hence all the questions

Carry all of this on in the build thread then pal, so people can see any issues or problems you come across and offer any input. I don't mean any disrespect by what I said, and don't regard you as an idiot- more the opposite as I think it's great you're having a go at it on your own and on a public forum. If you keep everything you do in one place, it will be easier for you and us to help and give any information about your car and the other mods you have.

You actually remind me of a mate who was in the forces some 10 years ago now. He used to buy hundreds of pounds of mods a month when he was out on tour- then send them to my address and when he got back after several months, we'd have about £2ks worth of parts to fit to his motor in a few weeks! Lol

Dont worry fella I didn't take offence I knew what you meant, everyone's been really patient and informative :)

Ill post the link to this thread on my w.i.p and then ask any further questions I have on there, keep it all in one place as you suggested.

Yea I'm pretty much in the same position as your friend was it's also good though because it's something to look forward to, and I suppose adding mods all at once will make the improvements more noticeable, expect more amusing times to come lol

The ICM module should be bolted onto a heatsink... Thats what they bolt onto on the airbox (for a reason=they run hot)

The hoses should have arrive by Wednesday I'll let you know how I get on
