Just in case other's would like this information.

Click Settings, on the left click Edit Avatar, Click Use Custom Avatar and then click the upload button while making note of the note.

Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 100 by 100 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

If anyone wants a video view on how to do this let me know.

Your avatar is what people see when you reply to a post. Profile pic is self explanatory. x
