Stacey's Belated Yo Yo Build Thread

4" is all a bit XR3I for me , where as oval says RS6 to me ;)
would love to see this in the flesh once its done fella , pop down to south Woodham with it please :)
baz

I didn't reallise you was near by as only person near on hear I know of is Lemon and hes in bickenacre.

Will happily swing over that way one day, am moving from maldon to tiptree at the end of the week but I quite often drive the backroads to woodham as can be a good drive :)

The cars on the outside is a bit battered and bruised but hey its whats on the inside that counts ; )

:D good lad , tiptree to Maldon is a fine road then Maldon to Woodham via latchingdon and fambridge is epic , has lemon got an imola s3. ? If so I know where he is ;)

Yeah theres definately some roads along that route that'll keep me entertained

Yeah lemons is imola and has the APB tuning sign outside his ;)

4" looks lost in the bumper, maybe if you went 6" it would fill the space better but then you would need buck teeth and a mullet pony tail :undwech:

BOO oval :( fcn blend in with the Leon Cupra gays. Makes the car look less aggressive too..

All laid out (except the external gate bit cos we have'nt looked at that yet and wont until the now mammoth task of tigging all this together is complete. Downpipe top section will be tig'd with back purge also seeing as its going to see some uber heat.

what sort of cider bottles have you been drinking out of where the bottle neck is bigger than the bottle??

You ever tried getting cider out of a bottle in a hurry?
It all backs up at the neck.

I'm not sure. I'm trying to understand why going from 3" to 4" back down to 3" for one section is beneficial.

I don't understand the growth?
Why for that one section does it go wider than drops down?
Would that not create a bottleneck type effect?

nope, its provides an expansion chamber for the hot swirling turbine ejected gases to expand into, loosing the swirl and not backing up into the turbine wheel, making for less turbine back pressure..

Thats the theory. We shall see how it fares when we get to the actual running bit.

and its not like Cider, lol... not fizzy - :p LOL

Looking awesome.

Not ceramic coating the downpipe? :)

If you've not already bought wrap, I have a roll of DEI stuff back in the UK + the black spray paint for it. You can have it for postage + advice on my build nearer the time ;)

Have well and truly run out of ££££ now and have borrowed money left right and center to finish the build and to help pay for the house and move this week

Will get it coated if its ever in bits at a later date

Thanks for the offer thats brilliant but will leave that in Bills lap if he wants it or not as he'll be slinging it on?

And of coarse can have the advice anyway unconditionally like love lol ;)
Not sure if you really want my advice though, got to see if mine even works yet

not sure there's even room for wrap... uber close. it will be VERY close.. We shall see
double wrap I dont see being possible fo sho

Looks lovely as usual bill

Suppose thats probably the worst of it now due to more joins on the DP with the bends and changes in diameter? :)

A quick count suggests at least 14 'joins' to weld... :(

I didn't include the joining pipe between the two rear boxes as thats already been done (plus as I helped make it I also know where the joins 'should' be... although I could have missed a couple... :D)

I am sticking to 14...

Wheres the dump pipe from wastegate joining? Further down or being left open? :yum:

Just "quickly" counted and got 17 welds down with 17 to go lol

Dump tube will be rerouted into the downpipe somewhere wherever bill can fit it....my inner child wants one silencer and a screamer but I know its not a good idea as will even get chucked off bedford and dont want that lol

Nah you wont. If the exhaust is within regs the screamer will be fine. If my mate can run 2 screamers from twinscroll fullrace manifold on his 200sx and not get told off you`ll be fine.

no no no no no - lol

I have'nt made a nice quiet system for it to be made all horrible loud again from a screamer pipe..
it will join into the main system - somewhere.. position tbc.. somehow.. kinda.. sort of.. Erm..
