In need of help, dropped my samsung s3 in the garden pond for about 10 seconds. Phone was still working so took it apart quickly to let things dry. Switched it back on and the screen was flickering. Took it apart and has been left for about 4 days in pieces also left it in a bowl of rice to soak up any moisture I keep putting it back together and EVERYTHING works except the screen it won't seem to flick on. Speaker works, I can hear messages and emails going off but can't see anything. Got the misses to ring me and it rings and I even swiped it to answer the phone and that works. Just wont show anything on the screen. What do I do from here?

Cheers

Either claim on insurance or try another screen, but be warned, they're about £100-£130 as changed some myself & you need to be patient & very careful not to brake any parts or you're mega screwed.

Sounds like the backlight not working.

I dropped mine in my freshly dug pond a few times, also dropped it in the sink trying to text while shaving... lol.

Still works perfectly, its an xperia z :D

They say my watch is water resistant but i wouldn't dare go swimming in it !

When i dropped mine in my bucket while washing the car, i took it apart left beside boiler for 3 days, then a quick blow dry with hair dryer (the wifes one, cause i don't need one ) and it's worked perfect ever since.

I dropped mine in the chip oil at the chippy whilst i was on the phone frying fish and i cleaned it up and dried it out and it has worked just as it good as it were new to this day. Nothing better than a good old Nokia.
Anyway, Anybody fancy Fish & Nokia for tea ?

Oil is thicker than water and i know as baby oil isnt conductive.. thats possibly why it didnt short out the board ;)
