Hello all,

I have noticed I'm getting quite close to the limit with my tyres and being 19 I can't really afford to take the chance of getting points! So I was pricing up tyres and they came to about £300 which I don't really have, especially with all my current issues such as turbo and coolant loss.

i nipped up to the scrappy today when I was killing abit of time and noticed these alloys which are 18" and they have tyres on each with fairly good tread. The guy said he would give me all four with caps and tyres for £130...

now in my current situation that sounds quite appealing however, I don't want to stick something on my car that will look rubbish. Anyone seen these on an a3 before and have pictures I can see? Or what are your thoughts?

thanks!

Seen what on an A3 before?

Edit 1: Now you've added pics lol.

They're old RS4 or TT wheels from the pic, aren't they 5x100 so wont fit?

Edit 2: I can now see they're maybe dual studded as such, so maybe fit your car afterall, they must be aftermarket as I don't recall oem's having that.

Haha just have! Yeah they have like ten stud places if that makes sense. Fair enough ever seen these on an audi? Debating if to go for it!

Stick em on and use the tyres up, if you don't like them go back to 19 and sell these on cleaned up. Will be able to get your money back on rims alone, so effectively free rubber.

Mine are 17s ATM but yeah fair point. I just rang to ask about the tyres tread to make sure and he just said he's sure there not legal and this was a different guy from the one I saw before :-/ but when I went in before the guy said 130 with tyres and they're legal

Gonna go check it out properly tomorrow :) I have refurb alloys before so ill do these before they go on if I do get them as no doubt they'll have a few curb marks

They should fit there multi stud fit so 5x100 & 5x112 a mate has a set on his caddy van but never seen them on an a3

I had these on mine well 19 inch they looked good as long as the cars lowered

He said they're £80 for the alloys or £180 with dead low tyres on :-/ decisions.. What you guys think?
Buy for 80 and clean up to sell or keep for future. Buy with very low tread tyres?

At £80 for the alloys with centre caps i'd certainly go for it.
Then give them a coat of matt black, they'll look great,,if you dont like em sell them on for profit......:icon_thumright:

Ok so I got them for £96 all together as they had to add vat on to them :-/ but I can easy clean them up for future :) tried them on my car just now.. What do you's think, I wouldn't use them until i get the audi centre caps and I have got coilovers as its like a monster truck! However is the front tyre out the arches legal?

Friggin' steal. Once you've dropped the monster truck it will look heaps better than your old 17s

What colour should I do them? Thinking a sort of metallic grey I think...

Hmmmm not sure about Matt black really! May look too black and hidden :-/ can anyone photo shop on here

Best I could do with a poor quality photo and zero effort

Ohhh thanks for that, I like it! Do you? Also is that more of a dark anthracite or Matt black?

I do but I also have nothing against the silver. Dunno really I suppose it's lighter than what matt black would be but gives you an idea of them looking darker anyway

Well I can give any a try, see how I feel at the time!
