Hi,

which tyres do you guys usually go for or which would you recommend? In the next few months I'm probably gonna be replacing my alloys and gonna get all new tyres for them. Any recommendations?

I only go on the motor way around once a month and apart from that my car is just used for getting to work each day and getting me about if that helps you guide me in the right direction! My budget is around £300 max and that doesn't have to include fitting as I have a few good mates who can help me!

225/45/R17 may get 18s yet not sure but go off 17s for now :)

I have just fitted Falken 914 to mine, decent amount of grip in both wet and dry condition. £290 from Camskill.

Good to hear, may get them! Anyone know what the stud alignment is (if that's right) or when I'm searching for alloys what do I need to type so I know they'll fit, 5x?

Honestly in any case I'd spend a little more! Mines had enduros on it, I can't wear them out and they are awful.. Noisy, they make the car vibrate like a bearing has gone and dangerous in the wet! I can't hate them enough and worst of all they dont wear out :-( no idea what idiot put them on but he needs shooting!

The ones I put a link to have good ratings and reviews are good, they only seem cheaper I think as my friend can fit them for me so obviously around £10-20 is knocked off from the usual fitting. I won't ever buy budget stuff, my old golf had them on when i bought it and in wet weather it was Like i had hardly no control! Quite scary!

Its been said time and time again, don't skimp on tyres, get a bargain for sure but don't buy total dross!

Falken FK452s are worth a look. Decent performance and often on offer at camskill.

Absolutely right.

Don't ever skimp on tyres as the extra grip is worth every penny.

I use contisport contact 3s with no probs

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3 and its likle driving the car on velcro in the wet and dry!!

Shame they are in short supply...

x4 Brand New 91W's were £270.00 from east coast tyres near Bridlington. They do mail order too, £11 for two tyres, £17 for all four.

Fitting at my local garage for £20.00 for a beer or two.
