Sorry to be a bore with these constant cooling fan questions but I can't seem to solve it.

Bought and fitted some second hand fans that come with 3 months warranty (even though there is no guarantee they're actually working).

so now they're fitted I still haven't heard them come on, is there a sensor or anything that would stop these from working

Turn your aircon on & see if they turn on.

To activate aircon, do I turn the econ light off and pres the circulation button?

Econ off, set to low and hit Auto or set full blast...either will enable the fan after a bit.

Just tried it and the big fan on the right came on at high speed (As if you're looking into your bonnet) seems pretty noise though if that's normal. However they work so I'm happy, one less issue off my list! Instead of me writing a new thread can anyone lead me to a glow plug change guide?

thanks

I think you should have your car scanned with vcds if you we're near me I could help , I think doing that could save you money as you could log all sensors and test actuators as your starting issue could be your cts or your plugs all these issues would show up and take out the guess work

What's Cts mate? The garage I usually use has a vcds so ill get him to do it :) shame I don't live close!

Cts means coolant temp sensor your car will probably have 2 one on the radiator and one on the block don't unplug them as it creates a fault and makes your fans run and not stop until reconnected and codes cleared .

I bought a temperature sensor today as I was told it could be that, was only about £8 but didn't realise there was three.. Is this one of what you meant or have I bought something completely off what I should be buying.

It works on all vag cars pm nhn for a price it's cheaper than labour charges and saves guess work you can also code modules and add certain features go on youtube for videos it will give you a idea of what it's capable of and updates are free.
