Living in Denmark has it's pros and cons..... one thing being the price!

All in all the total cost of the car is = 555.740,70 which is in GBP = £63.755,86 (which is what 2 cars in the UK)

Production week is 35.

So hopefully, I can get a decent price for my 2006 Audi A3 1.6 when it comes.

So thrilled!

I'll post pictures once I get it foiled (dunno which colour yet, advice is accepted)

I went full-******..... never go full-******!

Ticked the boxes I wanted, and went for it.

Might be a bit much, but can you really have too much ?

Nordic countries charge a feckload for new cars, mate Josip had same iirc, hence why he asked me to supply retrofit parts lol.

You only live once!

I wanted the 1.8 TFSI, but here in Finland it is not available until August at the earliest, and that was when I ordered my 8V SB back in early November last year! Plus, the 1.8 was only available with quattro package which pushed it way out of my budget. By the way, nice color choice, I have the same :beerchug:

haha ya, really wanted the S-line, but it was £12K more :/

I did the same, love the gadgets so just ticked all the boxes :p

I could have easily spend more..... 7 inch screen.... yes please :)

In for a penny in for a pound. Just was rather surprised at the equivalent cost in Denmark. Perhaps the nordic countries are plugging the gap in their finances from those iffy bankers in Iceland. ;-)

Enviromental taxes maybe, 180% duty on cars apparently.

Public transport must be popular then along with pedal power.

Salaries on average in Denmark will at least be double the average in the UK so will help cushion the increased cost but I recall that income tax rates are rather hefty to here. I'm stopping there. :shutup2: Off topic.

Anyway, great spec you have gone with Quarz.

Just to clarify: :readit:

Tax rate on a car in Denmark: 180% of the import price the dealer paid :banghead:
Tax rate of our income: 42%
Average income in Denmark per year: £29.000

Retarded, and the reason is, we don't produce any cars in Denmark....... so we get punished.

But all in all, I'm quite happy with the specc, and punching that start button for the first time....... ohh lord! ;)

We use to have something like 100% car tax here in Finland, thankfully it's lowered quite a bit from that now. There's 24% VAT plus taxes based on engine size and CO2 emissions. I believe it's in the range of about 30-40% total taxes on a new car, although I didn't calculate it for my SB. The taxes really go up quick on CO2, I believe over 120g/km you start to really feel it.

Not if they still have to pay the import/registration/emissions etc taxes.

When we imported a cmax into Italy, the taxes were ridiculous, a 400 euro tax for absolutely sweet fa, let alone registration costs & everyother cost after that & they say Italy has financial problems, yeah right.

Same here, the buyer would still need to pay all local taxes/registration fees that cars here in Finland have on them. Plus shipping costs. You can buy older cars from within Europe and import them to Finland cheaper, but you still have to pay some taxes. I don't remember the age of the car where the lower taxes apply, but it is 5 or 6 years old minimum I believe.

What colour did you decide on in the end?

Went with Brilliant Black in the end, and vinyl wrapping it in a dark blue pearlscent with a metallic spark. Rihanna singing Diamonds hopefully comes to mind, without it being tacky (hopefully is the key) since you can't really see it, you need to picture it with your imagination..... and I watch telly ;)

Awesome Sandra, can't wait to see what you have in store ;)

Well normal price where I live is around £1.500. But I'am getting it done for £1.050. it's 3M vinyl (if that helps you) And it's done in Denmark (we can't all be fish and chips cravers :D)

So nice, you are living in Denmark...... You don´t want to know the price of my 1.8 TFSI quattro s-line over here in Norway

Why did you not order the windows already dark from the factory and foil them yourself?

Anyway congratulations.

Regards,
Tom

haha, well I paid for 50% with oil giveaways :D they are partially tinted from the factory. i'm vinyl wrapping it

Ahh, you are vinyl wrapping your brand new black car, can I ask why and which colour?

Would be interesting to see some pictures of the process when you do that.

Tom

Why : Original paintjob looks brand new in 3,4,5 years time = better sales price.

Colour: dark blue pearlscent with a metallic spark.

It's getting done by proffesionels, so I can only give you pictures of the final product. but before and after

Ok, would be nice to see how it looks like.

But anyway do you think the sales price will increase after some years as much as you pay for the foiling?

What does such a full foiling cost approximately...... and what will it cost the take the foil away again?

Regards,
Tom

I pay DKK 9.000 and as far as I calculate, the investment can about double.

People look at the paintjob first, to see for any wear and tear and how the seller treated the car. The wrapping takes the beating from stones, scrathes etc.

9.000 DKK including work and foil, that not too bad. I would have expected much more.

Just got a call from the dealer saying if I wanted, I could pick the car up tomorrow at 10:00...... ehm yes!?

Maybe i'll go to sleep now, so time will pass quicker
