Mine would be that if my car was standard :(

(and no... I am not 100yrs old either lol)

What was the difference between a standard S3 and your BT one out of interest?

My insurance only wanted about £50-£60 more with everything in my sig declared- but then again I'm hardly anywhere near the bhp/mods on your car.

IIRC its was 220ish std, 505 fully declared

sounds like you lot got good deals as well but im in a bad postcode area so the £460 was really good for me the first year i paid £1132 second year £762 this year as you know £460 so im well chuffed all the best boys n gals

and im nearly 42 dont think there is a cheap age for insurance they all rape you !

Haha- there is no definite cheap age really....although when your over 25 it does drop quiet a bit and starts rising again at 70+ ish

Premiums have so many rules behind them, that there's really not much point in saying what you pay as each policy is a specific risk for you and your criteria. Each company rates these details differently- otherwise there would pretty much be one insurer that EVERYONE goes to.....hence why people always say shop around....what could be cheap for you may not be cheap for me.

I would not have guessed that you was paying that amount aged 42 for example...but as you say the area rating is pretty bad and there are so many other details that can affect the end premium.

Total postcode lottery. I'm 32 with 5 years no claims and the best I can get (through forum sponsors Sky) is over £850 fully comp with £200 excess. If I was to move 10 minutes up the road it would be £200 cheaper :(

Mine's £640 fully comp with Privilege, I'm 26 with 7yrs no claims- that's protected too but cant remember my excess..

this is weird as ive just had a quote through admiral for mine all mods declared of £472 having just hit 22 :/

just changing to adrian flux got £769 all in with all mods, but im only 22 with 2 years ncb

My wife took the insurance out in the end, she is 30 & I'm 40 as a named driver and put the insurance up by £4 ,so ended up being £205 lol

Standard S3, 23yrs old. 4yrs NCB £580 with Direct line, with my mum on as a named driver..
