Thinking of doing my brakes all around.how much does it cost approx for all disks and pads? Where is the best place to buy these also?

cheers

Cheers been having a little look but there's so many different ones that seem the same? Does nowhere do a full set?

Nope, unless someone on eBay sells them as a set, but i don't know.

To be honest providing you stick to decent brands, i.e. Brembo/Pagid/Ferodo/ATE/Textar you will be fine.

okay at euro car parts pagid parts front set me back £27.90 for front discs, £12.80 for front pads with sensor, rear discs and pads total was £49.80 all inclusive hope this helps...

Easy to fit at home, 7mm hex to remove the calliper sliders, believe it was a 17mm to remove calliper carrier

rears just remove the calliper the discs tend to slide out past the calliper carrier

total hours is roughly hour and a half on axle stands.

Hope my info was helpful

as above euro car parts they have promotions on a lot like 25% of with a promo code they brands like pagid .

push your pistons back slow as brake fluid will probably overflow from the reservoir and it saves your seals.

well advised on the piston chillout! that part slipped my mind the rears are wind back tool available from euro car parts for around £10 or if you can borrow the tool slip someone a drink as you will probs never use it again!

If you wanted to take extra care and apply another job, crack the bleed nipples off (11mm to 8mm i think) and carry out some fresh fluid in the system, 2 man job or have a bleed kit.

If you are manually bleeding start on the passenger rear then the drivers rear then the passenger front and finally the drivers front I use a gunson brake bleed container with a check valve but if your posh you could do it with an air operated kit .

Audi quoted me £528 for new discs and pads all around fitted including parts and VAT, how much difference would this be at an Indy?

Thanks for all the information, exactly what I was after and even better for telling me these little tips for when I do it because I wouldn't have know! :)

2 things to know....

To do the rear pads you'll need a right- handed wind back tool to push the piston back, you can get one from Machine Mart for around £12.

Also, if Im honest the Pagid pads from ECP are crap. No real bite as such & they can fade quite badly at times. Spend a bit more & buy OEM or another brand.

How long should pads and disks last for? I've done 23 000 miles ans there starting to feel like there not working like they sshouldn't s a 2011 s3

Massively depends on your driving style, I think you should do a brake fluid change every 2 years as well? That may contribute to the problem

If anyone wants a quote for brakes supplied and fitted drop me a PM with your reg and I will get one for you. We are generally a LOT cheaper than the main dealer when using genuine parts from TPS and a LOT LOT cheaper when the customer opts for the 'cheaper' option of a combination such as Ferodo pads and Brembo discs.

As a guide we did a set last week on the front of a Mk5 R32 using the above mentioned parts and the bill was £230 inc VAT fitted.

We are based in Lancashire by the way.

£230 is cheap! But sounds correct for discs & pads, Pagid have been fine with me on track and on the road? If you wanted to go ball deep then get a set of drilled and grooved with some EBC or brembo pads ect

If you just a casual road user pagid will be fine

Im heavy on my brakes front pads last me around 25- 30k rears 40k discs i check the Minimum thickness requirements and replace accordingly.

Brake fluid change carried out every year as we are a very damp country my brakes feel like new all the time
