Would a gear box oil change stop the gear selection being so 'clicky'? Especially first and second gear, they're not over easy to select, and if your windows are down for example- its quite noisy as you put it in gear.

Any knowledge appreciated!

:)

Might be the clutch otherwise Molyslip could help or its just wear

Just add it to the new oil.Helped with my wifes Bora which was notchy in 4th and 5th but if its 1st and 2nd its more likely the synchro is dodgy or the clutch is failing

Mine is also clciky is first and second always has been and selects fine with no resistance! Just seems to make that noise, changed the fluid and no change!

I did an oil change and it improved the notchiness I had. Had a new clutch fitted not long after and saw furthur improvement. Can still hear my linkage with windows down though...it is mechanical movement, after all.

75W-90 Fully Synthetic, so says the Audi bible. Give me your gearbox code off your service sticker and I'll check the capacity.

It is on the first page of the service booklet too but I suppose you can't find that either!?

All the 6 speed boxes have a 3 litre capacity and I used Castrol in mine (see the link) but the Audi part number is G 052 911 A
