2013 Audi S3

Super sports seats are not in the same league as the buckets, just configured an S3 sportback on the audi site and I'm so glad i went for the 8P with buckets

I'm seeing the trend for Estoril Blue already... Starting to think it's going to be as common as muck!

It is tidy tho. Aberdeen had a RS6 that colour in a few months back! Very nice!

i don't think the few s3 buyers on Audi sport net are gonna flood the country with estoril blue :)

plus the s3 is not a high volume car in any case.

plenty of buyers will I am sure go for some of the older colours.

maybe not ... But they are not a £2k extra like buckets were either, so for the extra cost they are excellent value IMO and look superb !

Very disappointed about the LED Headlights. I will just have to have them when the RS3 comes out.

My spec for my negotiations starting on Friday is:
3 Door S3 S-Tronic
Estoril Blue
Super Sports Seats
Adaptive Headlights
Technology Pack
Folding & Dimming Mirrors
Interior Light Pack
Bang & Olufsen
Comfort Pack with Cruise Control & Rear Parking Sensors
Reversible Boot Liner
Tyre Pressure Monitor
Non Smoking Pack
Hold Assist

£37,485.00

Interestingly, I have been talking to www.bettercardeal.co.uk (from where I purchased my current car). It is still to be officially confirmed but it looks like a 7% discount.

S3 Ordered!

I put the 7% discount figure in front of my local dealer and they "thought about it overnight" and have just called to confirm.

Very Excited.

Great result, so it seems discounts are still to be had :)

Good for you! Excellent to hear there is movement from RRP. That sort of discount really makes it do-able. Which dealer have you ordered from if you don't mind me asking?

Shame no LED headlights yet, did they say anything about those?

Been to My local dealers today in the North east and have been told no discount whatsoever !

Hmmm ... looks like discounts will be entirely at Dealer discretion and does not surprise me that some flatly refuse to give anything ... so shopping around may be required !

Agree shame about full LED headlights as they were pretty much top of my extras list along with pano roof, super sports seats and privacy glass.

Right then,

Now that the configurator has been updated I'd be interested in hearing what people think of this:

S3 Sportback Manual
Estoril Blue crystal effect paint
Aluminium roof rails
Audi Phone Box
Audi Warranty extension 4 years
Bang & Olufsen sound system
Comfort package
Audi Parking System Plus
Cruise control
Hold assist
Non-smoking package
Technology package
Tyre pressure loss indicator

RRP: £35,300

Any must haves that people think are missing from the rather extensive options list?

I'm based in London but as this will be my first new Audi I'm more than willing to hunt around for a decent deal - especially after SplatHead's exciting news above!

Apologies if this question has been asked before but aside from my local dealer (Wimbledon Audi) and the main internet introductory services - DriveTheDeal, OrangeWheels, etc. are there any other companies/organisations that people recommend talking to?

I'm far too excited about this and I haven't even placed an order yet!

Cheers.

Nathaniel

I've ordered from Bury St. Edmunds Audi. They missed out on my business last time and I think they were quite keen to keep me happy. The salesman did say that his manager was not happy about doing this - but then he would say that wouldn't he?
They have even given me a good price on my trade in (although I did have it serviced along with a cambelt change and two new springs yesterday).

Sorry, I didn't ask about the LED Lights. As I mentioned, I will get them on a car one day (although, I will be jealous when I see some in the flesh). I have gone for the Super Sports Seats instead as a compensation.

@RRB
Contact Sam @ www.bettercardeal.co.uk. I got my quote from them. I bought my current S3 from them (through Wimbledon Audi as it turns out)

Snap, Sam was brilliant, no bull just truthful and very knowledgable, he even advised of the Ca. 5 month lead time up front, and discount was best i found anywhere, Wimbledon Audi (Alex) have been pretty good so far even if sometimes a bit slow in email replies, that said no real need for instant replies when still early 3 months to collection when I am sure he has more immediate stuff to sort.

I had this with three local dealers on my A3. A little further afield secured £2k off list.

Keep trying and you'll get there.

I'm impressed people are getting 7% on an S3 though. I'd have expected a little less than that and would have been aiming for about 5% (if I could have afforded to wait). Maybe there's no restrictions these days on allocations for the S cars as there was a few years ago. Definitely good news for buyers.

If you have a genuine quote for a dealer supplied car, then that should at least start a discussion on a discount. I managed to get about 8% off a 2010 A5 Sportback when it had just come out, I guess it depends on how much you want the car vs. how keen the salesman is to close the deal.

This time around I'm going to test out the theory that at the end of the month/quarter/year you're more likely to get a dealership prepared to do a deal...

Based on your list I think I'd only add the below (in order of priority for me):

Interior Lighting Package £175 - Glowing rings on the cup holders, for the win :)
Electric Lumber Support £195 - Makes the seats much more comfortable.
Load-through Facility £150 - Useful and not too expensive.

Hope you have fun ordering!

As ive said previously im going to wait till possibly december time as i doubt they wilp sell many cars through december

This thread brings back memories of the 8P S3 launch in 2006, I had my deposit in before the order book opened and when I came to place my order was told no way would there be a discount, and there wasn't. I remember I had to wait about 5 months for delivery, but it was well worth it as the car was amazing. My motoring needs have changed a bit now, and I ain't getting any younger hence the Sportback derv order.

I wish you guys the best of luck with your orders and hope your wait isn't to long. I'm sure the new S3 will be fantastic.

Mark

Put the question to the guy I planned on dealing with at Aberdeen regarding any discounts.
Still waiting for a reply, but I'll give it a week or so in case he's on holiday.

Well, the price is now on Audi's website, but you still can't configure one. Hu'h

I cant access the configurator for an S3 build? There is no "build" option fom the S3 drop downs under the A3 range.

Is there another way to access the configurator that I am missing? If you can access the S3 configurator can you post the web link to that page??

Thanks

:) Update - I found it now:

The Audi Configurator - Intro

The link from the A3 range drop downs clearly dont work.

It could be a fault in your browser.
Check to make sure java is up to date on it, or try another one.

ooh got my configuration to 43k still a lot of money imo, will see what discounts are given at the time

Nice one! :) I decided to keep mine down as much as poss. Think it was around 36k. I went with the theory of not have anything that assists, I'm buying the car to drive it after all ;) tech pack and b&o were there main ones I wanted because I like gadgets :)

Hi been lurking for a while...

Ordered my S3 a couple of weeks back basic spec with B&O, light package, TPMS, dipping/folding mirrors.

Just struggling to decide on the colour, Estoril blue is disappointing in the metal and shows as a dull navy unless the sun is out...

Misano red is too orange/pink when it is sunny so the order sits as Glacier White for now.

Starting to think a '12 plate S5 or low miles RS4 would be better for a year or so LOL...

Geez, if you don't like misano or estoril (two of the best colours Audi offer IMO) then you really are gonna struggle.

White is ok I guess but I did the white thing back in 2008 and its become really common since.

You wanna see some of the drab boring colours offered by Merc, it makes you fully appreciate that the Audi colour palette is on a different league !

White is past it now! I ordered my white car mid 2007 just before white came in fashion

Just wondering what build week everyone that has ordered has been given?

Hi All,

Been lurking for a while...I'm seriously considering changing my A3 8P Black Edition 2.0TDI for a new S3!

The problem I have is that none of the standard colours really appeal, at a push i'd go for Glacier White or Misano Red.

Has anyone ordered Sepang or Sprint Blue? If you've had either colour before (8P S3) would you have it again?

My current S3 is Sprint Blue and yes, I would definitely have it again. Only the circa £2k cost put me off on my new S3.

I agree £2k is a lot (although it's really +£1500 as I'd be getting a metallic / Pearl finish either way).

Not sure why Audi don't offer either Sepang or Sprint on the current 'S' cars...

I like Glacier White, but my current A3 is Ibis White and the Wife has a Q3 in Glacier so I was looking for something different. The issue is £1500 buys a lot of other goodies!

ChrisH S3 - do you mind me asking if you managed to get a discount?

Did you go for Manual or DSG?

Tried for a discount quoting this forum but no movement on price but trade in price was £1500 more than the first dealer I went to.

Order is currently manual in glacier white, both of which may change. No real stand out colour choices available.

Not sure what my build week is but it's the first week of July last time I checked it.
