I was under the impression that the reason most people went with 10mm spacers on the front and 15mm spacers on the rear was because the front wheels were already 5mm wider then the rears as standard. Is this true?

The reason I ask is because I used to have 10\15 spacers on my stock ET32 S3 wheels but I was just following the crowd. I sold these a while back to Dane and have only now started to look at getting some more for my stock ET32 TT wheels as they look pony tucked inside the arches.

I was looking at getting 15\15 until I remembered that the fronts are supposedly 5mm wider already but If someone can confirm this as a myth I'll get 15\15 instead of 10\15.

Cheers.

From what I know westicles, they are slightly wider than the rears, but not sure by how much. That's the info I read anyhow. 10/front 15rears seems to be the best compromise IMO.

the bit of paper i have says that the track width of the S3 8L on the front is 1527mm and 1503mm at the rear making the front 24mm wider overall at the front. So 12mm per wheel

I ran 10/15 for a while with OEM RSTTs, but the fronts still appeared to be wider. I've since gone up to 10/20, which IMO looks a little better.

I'm now trying to work out the best measurements to get the ET32 wheels to sit as close to the arch as possible and to match front and back.

I'll get the tape measure on it this weekend.

The RSTTs are ET35 AFAIK so my wheels stick out 3mm more each side already. 20mm might be a bit OTT.

Any pics of your wheels?

i have 8.5J ET25 wheels with 10/20 F/R spacers - admittedly they do stick out a wee bit

Mine are genuine RSTTs and they're ET33 - 20mm each side seems to sit just right. Can stick up some pics later

Alex runs lms.

You cant compare different width wheels either. Width affects the look as well as offset.
Rstts are 8 inch wide afaik.

Just get a dam tape measure out and measure from sidewall to the arch, simple as that.

Ill do that this weekend fool, said that above. If you had radius bolts with your kit id be buying them.

yeah sorry, they are BBS LM 18" 8.5J ET25 with 10mm spacer on the front and a 20mm spacer on the rear

To get the same poke on a 7.5J ET32 standard S3 Avus you'd be running 30/40mm F/R

Cheers matey.

I wouldn't be going anywhere near that but i am looking at the possibility of 15/20mm just need to find somewhere that does a kit at a reasonable price.

yep, the only reason i have spacer up front is for the brakes and then i was left with making the rears stick out so they looked similar to the front - hence the 20s on the rear

Im running 25mm adapters upfront and 30mm adapters in the rear on 42 offset wheels, ill be changing my rears soon to a 40mm adapter. The front sits way more out than the rears.

Heres a pic to give you an idea...

wheels are same width and offset, track or body width is makes the difference... 10mm on ET33 OEM RSTT's are perfect for the front but I have 15mm on the rear and personally reckon 20mm is required to 'fill the arches' in the same way the front is... if I get a chance I'll measure the track width front and rear and see if there is a difference... I suspect though its just the body width being wider at the back thats the issue

Pretty good prices there. Think I might finally get some myself. Was never willing to pay £100+ for spacers.

I used to have some but sold them to fund PCD adapters for my S4 wheels. When I sold the S4s and PCDs I never got round to buying more spacers. As luck has it I won £82 last night on a work lottery bonus ball thing we do so that'll pay for them. ;)

Conical seat for Audis.

I accept no responsibility if it is wrong, but I did go to my shed and check my originals for you. So it must be right.

Yeah, radius type. Sorry, wasn't really clear then.

Would be worth whipping out out and checking before ordering?
