Well.....pick up time was 12 noon today....arrived 12.10....couldn't see my car......it was asleep in the showroom!....The salesman had popped out for half an hour...so I had 30 long minutes of wandering around the dealership not daring to take a peek at was under the cover....then at 12:45 all was revealed. IMG 1956IMG 1957IMG 1958

My initial reaction was WOW.....Daytona under the lights looked amazing

Dealer talked me through the usual..I questioned the MMI artwork from an i source....only came with a blue cable which was soon swapped for a red...and there it was artwork....6 miles on the clock...no fuel!...so had to drive to the local gas station for the dealer to filler her up (quarter!)

Too soon to comment on the drive...I drove like I had eggs balancing on the roof....already know Dynamic mode is where it will stay....very quiet (but have just stepped out of a tdi)...I am disappointed a little....with the fact that it didn't come with sat nav.....even though it was ordered before end of Feb....I used a broker who stated it had sat nav (only a few weeks ago)..dealer informed me that I ordered the car yes before the end of Feb BUT...the COD engine wasn't available to order until after !!!!!!....it wouldn't have been a deal breaker as it was a bonus to have it ...but I was looking forward to having built in sat nav....retro fit is £500..i'll stick to a paper map!

I am now looking at it in the staff car park......about 6ft away from the wall that it should be almost kissing!

Happy ...but need to get back in it!!!

Congrats mate, loving the sportback and loving the daytona grey, excellent choice!

How are you finding the 1.4TFSI engine?

Thanks...well...difficult to say as my Sunday style drive didn't help!..I drove the 122 version a while back and thought it was very eager but then I drove it quite hard....and I feel at the moment if I drive any quicker than 50mph I'll break it! the dealer is only 4ish miles away so early days....I'll make a call on it once tried and tested.....haven't driven a petrol car for quite some time which I had to adapt my right foot for.....thought I'd stalled it several times but no...just quiet!

Haha, yeah they're nice and quite. You should enjoy the transition then tbh, decent amount of power with some good fuel consumption. Always a much nicer drive in petrols I always find too.

It showed signs of being decent enough...smooth...quick off the mark..it will probably need to be 'driven' to get the best out of it..budget wouldn't allow for a 2.0tdi s-line....I don't think it's going to be too much of a compromise - if at all..I will enjoy finding out

Looks lovely mate Daytona is a fantastic colour which looks much better in the flesh, can't wait to get mine and lavish it with Blackfires ice over fire kit.

Enjoy the drive home !
Mark

cheers....yes the pics of Daytona don't do it justice, like a lot of colours it's much better in reality.....quite a silky colour...I feel as though want to touch it but daren't!...oh apart from the remnants of wax that the dealer left on!

Need an excuse for a drive tonight....bumper to bumper on the way home aint going to tell me much

Er... I'd be having words about that. The broker has clearly mis-informed you and they need to sort something out if they told you it came fitted with Sat Nav.

Stunning car though, keep us updated on how the COD settles in, I bet you're grinning from ear to ear!

Moonlight, the car looks stunning. Im sure you have the grin that all new owners get. Enjoy the nice drive home and your run out later on. We look forward to hearing all about it. Enjoy. :) x

I've just moved it closer to my office window...home soon.

Have spoken with the broker who in turn spoke with the dealer who in turn rang me.....they saaaaayy...that Audi sent a bulletin 11th March that the COD engine was ready to order.....now I 'ordered' mine around 28th Jan...BUTTT....Audi weren't accepting orders on the COD until 11th March...which possibly cunningly was after the expiry of the 'offer'...the broker (who we use often) read as I did in the brochure..free nav before Feb end....but if Audi weren't accepting orders until 11th March what chance did I have!!!?....of course non cod engine SB's were ok....so ya pay a £800 premium for it but they pull the sat nav rug from under you...I thought the dealer was ringing me to book it in!!....I would have liked it....tbh I only found out about the 'non' free sat nav a few weeks after I er 'ordered' it - or was on a list until 11th March...it should have been made clear at the time......it wont spoil my enjoyment...I can find my way around without it!....

When you collect a new Audi, I read somewhere in the brochure that it comes with half a tank full. Is this right?

I think that is correct, it used to be a full tank but high fuel prices put an end to that. I will be pushing for a full tank, I did with my Evoque and won.

Mark

I got a full tank in mine, guess it all depends on the dealer. The brochure does state half tank minimum.

My error it received half a tank of fuel not a quarter Still no excuse for not already having it in. Need to find that thread on iPods. My iPhone music works. The iPod 3rd gen i think shows as not supported ! I've been out to the drive a dozen times already just to look at the front

Which iPhone do you have ? And are you playing through the lead or via Bluetooth ?

Sleep well tonight mate.

Mark

Hi mark. Playing through the red cable. I phone 4s works using the red cable. Dealer kept the blue one as he thought I wouldn't need it but do I need it for the iPod?!

Lovely looking car moonlight. Good to see you are finally getting to enjoy it.

Ah fair enough. There is a difference between you placing the order (In January) and Audi accepting the order (In March). It's the order acceptance date that I believe denotes whether you got free Sat Nav if it was processed before the 28th of Feb. Pictures look stunning, and a great colour choice!

Thanks still a slight con though!but it was freebie that was never going to happen Would have been nice to have known in advance !

It might be worth voicing your dissapointment with Audi UK, see if they might chip in something to add the Sat Nav..... you never know ;)

Fantastic colour Moonlight. Awesome. Now crack on and rack up some mileage :)).

Look forward to your thoughts on the 1.4 Cod.

Really sorry to hear that the order came up short on the Sat Nav. Any chance your broker can make a contribution towards retro fitting one given that this was specced. Did you have a confirmation checklist of the order confirming Sat Nav included?
