I thought I'd take some pics of the water beading off the car. I know it's boring but its better than painting the hall like I'm meant to be doing. Sorry if the picture quality is crap, there off the phone.

Which polishes are you guys using? Bought some magiures nxt tech wax this weekend.. Don't really rate it.. Autoglym seems better and cheaper.. :-(

I gave mine the Megs ClayBar treatment for the first time at the weekend... 6 hours later and the paintwork was looking and feeling factory fresh

I guarantee that you will not be disappointed, just use plenty of detailer to ensure that the clay is well lubricated.

Well, my 2009 Ibis White A3 had never been Detailed or ClayBar'd and one ClayBar did the whole car with no issues.
The paint had a fair amount of tar and god knows what all over, so i would say that a single bar will do you fine, but obviously it depends on the condition of your paintwork.

I gave the car 2 washes using the 2 bucket method to make sure that the paintwork was clean from as much dirt and dust as possible, then i got to work with the ClayBar. (I didn't dry the paintwork as it helped with it being damp)

Tackle it a panel at a time, starting with the front end.

Not cheap, but to be honest its not three times better than their basic 'carbon' wax

Fortunately I imported a load of Zymol products years ago for another forum as a group buy - exchange rate, US pricing, and a very accommodating retailer meant we got items at a very good price. I think the Ital worked out about £38 a pot after sharing out the postal costs, UK retail is ca £125 these days (It was quite a bit higher than that a few years back !)

Make sure you keep your windows closed when driving your A3/S3 otherwise all those beads will end up on you.

Why not ... here's yesterdays results from a 3M Quick Wax top-up for a 2 month old Dodo Juice Purple Haze wax on Phantom Black.

Pics (though the forum wants to resize everything to tiny tiny size)






Didn't rate the 3M quick detailer. Was using it as a lube for some tree-sap removal. It dries milky and requires some work to get the best from it (but then again im probably using it wrong).

I am really impressed with the meguiars ultimate compound. This is the view from my front door today. Paintwork has really got its shine back.
Oh sorry to say I took the ASN decal off, it's just the colours I wasn't happy about. Think I'll order the ASN decal in white if there still available. Anyone got the link?

might take off the audi decal too. I got it for my brake callipers but they were too big so I stuck one on the rear window. Is it a bit Citroen saxo-ish?
