See economical..... (The tc light is now sorted btw)
AZ your car looks sexy as! I feel for you i really do, we are lucky that we have an a4 to play with as well as having the s4 as our 2nd car. You could always replace the bits on yr car that you want to keep bk to standerd and put them on an s4... problem solved?!!!!
i was just about to say the exact same thing
put it on elapsed or journey and see what it says then
the s4,s dis have two mpg figures one is instantaneous no 1 the other is for completee journey or elapsed no2
Your cheating there cos your DIS is on live mpg and not average!
i love your car, especially the wheels and seats, you just need that V8 snarling under the hood now,
i can see your dilemma though, could you not get your hands on an s4 and switch out some of your trick bits?
Sorry mate missed your post. Thanks very much for the comments! If you love my wheels they are currently for sale in the classifieds under Audi parts the RS4 interior is one of my favourite purchases, it definitely gives the interior an awesome look, especially now with the FBMFSW and A1 Quattro gearknob. Trust me if I had the money spare to source the right S4, then transfer all the trick bits on to it and the sell this on as a standard car then I would, but I haven't got that sort of money up front unfortunately.
Sammi - That's ****** good going that mpg figure, especially with the outside temp being so low.
sammi really wants your wheels
ive owned my b6 s4 for about 7 years now
theres several very important things to be looking out for on these motors
the first and foremost is chain rattle ... if the chain rattles for anything longer than a couple of seconds ona cold start up
walk away and find another .... its a sign the tensioners are weak and the slapping chain will have worn the guides
auxillary radiators ... a lot of these get leaves stuck in them and they rot the radiator
cam covers the gaskets leak and benefit from being changed
manual gearbox is strong but clutch can be a weak point
rear diff benefits from an oil change around 60k
tiptronic gearbox provided its been looked after is also very very good
make sure the baliffs in the headlights are working correctly and auto adjusting
check the passenger seat for water under the carpet
check the passenger seat works fully as if the fuse blows its a nightmare to get to
air con is a common thing to go faulty as is the alternator
both are expensive to repair
look at changing the serpentine or auxillary belt if any work is done which requires front end to be put in service position
coil packs can be replaced by audi f.o.c if allready not done
anything else p.m me

S6's are a bit too big for me really, plus like you say they are all auto's, and although I highly rate my wife's multitronic B6 avant I wouldn't want an auto for my own car which I'd drive every day, I like to be involved with the gears and controlling the car myself.
don't rule out the Auto, when we bought ours I wanted a manual as I like to do a fair bit of track driving each year and like you wanted the involvement. However the manuals are quite heavy to drive around on a daily basis, in standard form they can feel a little lazy. We ended up with an auto, the paddle shifts are great and give you the control you would want on a spirited drive and then you have sports mode too which pushes things further and you can still manually override sports mode too, and at the lights nothing will touch it launching off the line. The autos have a longer final gear too so get better economy on a run in 6th gear.
Have had mine for just over 2years now, without the general wear and tear issues, it has been pretty bulletproof! Guess you get what you pay for, so I think it's always worth your while paying that little bit more for one which shows its been cared for, minimal owners and lots of history. No idea where some members are getting high 20's EVEN 30's on fuel consumption, personally never seen above 25 on a run, mid to late teens around town! Be warned, the sound of the V8 is addictive.....especially when you fit milltek pipes!
besides, we all gotta have a hobby. I know plenty of people that spend more than the £200-250 a month I spend on fuel on other wastes-of-money such as over-priced clothes/trainers, beer, gadgets, etc. Whenever I feel sad about how expensive the car is to run I just go for a spin and all is forgiven...
I like your style, when your depressed about how much money your burning on fuel you just think 'f¥ck it, I'll throw some more money into it and waste that which should make me feel better about it' lol
