Concert 1

Hi guys just a quick question. Are all Audi Concert 1 (tape deck) stereos the same... or do different models have different fascias etc? Will a concert from an A6 fit my A3 to put it simply.

Hi , the one that came with my car was knackered !
dead pixels and the dreaded volume issue .
i spoke to a guy in a nearby town through eBay who was selling a mint one with a 3 month warranty and the promise that it would NEVER have the volume issues so I bought it now
when it turned up it was very different to my fubared one .
When I rang him he explained that my one was a blaupunkt one and the one he sold me is a Panasonic one !
He seemed genuine and knowledgable and I have no reason to disbelieve him .
The facia is identical but everything rearward of that is completely different with the exception of the connectors !
i also noted on the auction listing that it was listed as for audi " a3,a4,tt and a6 .

The Concert1 HU's are all identical (Matsu****a/Panasonic or Blaupunkt) it is only the fascia's that vary depending on Audi model
No idea what your ebay guy is talking about there is no difference between Panasonic/Blaupunkt either will fit.

The back part ( silver box) is completely different ,

Sounds like a pain in the ar**! OK Andy if this is the case and Baz has been uniquely conned .... Are the fascias swappable? As I still have the original concert stereo. Thanks

No the fascia is part of the front of the stereo. It is removable (it just unclips) but not sure if they are interchangeable though

All Concert 1's are single DIN behind the fascia so how different could it possibly be? Please post those pics

As Andy says they are the same unit. To go slightly further they are all exactly the same unit between all models, the fascias are interchangeable and all have the same unit behind them. There is no reason why you couldn't have unclipped the surround and swapped the units over....other than you didn't think/know you could.

I know this because I pulled the face off one in a scrap yard today from an A4 and it was exactly the same behind as the preface lift A3 which had its fascia pulled off. Even with the same slight over hand on the left hand side of the unit, totally identical.

I LOVE the look of the old Concert stereo, to the extent that I decided today I am going to swap my Chorus to a Concert for ****s and giggles and stumbled upon the fact that they only have one part number.
