hi

anyone know of any brand that do audi s3 8L fia approved roll cages please?

thanks

Tornado Motorsports will be able to do you a cage to suit your requirements to whatever spec needed. I haven't used them myself yet, but will be getting them to put a cage in my MK2 Golf track car at some stage. I believe they are based in Derby.

Other brands to consider are Safety Devices/OMP/Sparco/Custom Cages.

so you think the mk4 is like the s3 ? ( i mean it will remain fia approved ? )

thanks

Prawn has a Mk4 Golf cage in his track car... Mk4 chassis cars share more or less the same floor pan (Leon, Octavia, A3, S3, Golf and to an extent the TT) and pick up points... Custom Cages will no doubt be able to tweak accordingly if not 100%...

I doubt there is anything off the shelf available but Custom Cages do a good job...

seems like no one do them for the S3 !

Have you asked Custom Cages? they actually make cages to the car so if you need an FIA cage I am fairly sure they will be able to help...

contact Custom Cages and ask

^^^ This.

Also, if you got an FIA / MSA approved mk4 golf cage like mine, and installed it properly, then had a chat with the scrutineers for your intended race series, I'm sure you could work something out.

that is of course assuming you've already got a race series you plan to enter.

I have all the certs for my OMP cage, installed correctly on the chassis it was designed for, just a different body shell above.

Within the UK, largely, the cage itself doesn't need certification as such, it's more that it needs to meet MSA blue book regs. You could make your own cage, and provided it complies with the blue book, I can't see how you'd be failled at scrutineering.

Most scrutineers I've spoken to tend to use a degree of common sense, and if you've created something that far exceeds requirements, you're unlikely to be refused entry due to a lack of cert.

Wow, you are SO helpful.

Everyone in this thread other than yourself has put a decent effort into their replies to try and help you get the information you need. Your answers have been properly closed and generally guarded.

Where do you live, what do you plan to use the car for, are you part of a series, are there any requirements needed above the safety of the cage...etc etc etc. Tell us what you need and why you want it and we can help, with the information you have given we can't really help.

More info required really chap, what are you using the car for, what requirements do you need, what level of cage do you need?

As Jardo said above, the more you put into things, the more you get out.

To my knowledge, I'm the only person on the forum to have caged an A3 / S3 in any meaningful way, so you're unlikely to find much help, there are of course tuners on here who would be more than capable, but without doing the basic ground work first, you'll struggle to get anywhere. It's a fairly specialist area that most on here will be unfamiliar with.

problem is that i am not in the uk

May have been useful to mention that in the first place dude....

As others have said above... more info required... most of the members here are UK based so without context you were unlikely to get the answer you were looking for...

This picture doesn't help you, but its on topic, and contains a smiley face, so enjoy
