i am always 30 minutes early without fail! you just know there is gonna be that day where you hit stupid traffic or have to be redirected and it takes 30 mins!

Then you realised it was bank holiday and you were actually 25 hrs early? :moa:

No, I've not made that mistake before, but I always remember the time years ago when my mum sent my little sister to bed really early for being a little ****. She woke up at 9pm thinking it was 9am and ran downstairs in her school uniform and was confused why we were all sat there watching TV and not rushing to work etc. She still hates it when we rip her about it.

Done it several time due to stupid sleeping patterns.

I use to keep the night shift guys company on the early hours of the morning and then do my day shift. That was back when I had a job I enjoyed.

Now I just turn up 30 minutes before my shift starts.
Which is stupid really cause you don't get anything for it. Same as everyone else who turns up late.

My journey to work takes me through the Blackwall Tunnel, so I routinely set off to drive in before 6am, and am usually at my desk by 6.30, having switched on all the lights in the office. Some colleagues come in around 10am, by which time I have done what seems like half a day's work. The payoff is that unless I have a meeting that keeps me back, I am on my way home by 3pm.

Nothing better than finishing early.
I start at 0700 out the door by 1600 monday-thursday.

A workmate got up and ready, started his car and saw it was 2am rather than 6am lol.

Better than being a week early! It's so hard being blonde!

I hope you weren't lonely for long!!

Haha I definitely had to be in for 6 today as its overtime even though its my week off (plant shutdown) but damn I've never been so early!!

When i used to work 6am-2pm during the winter i often used to fall asleep around 5pm for a nap and wake up around 7pm and spend the next minute confused wondering what i'm doing and why i'm not at work.

My working arrangement is flexible, I just need to make sure I'm in the office during the core hours and work 40 hours a week. I tend to get in around 9 because of school runs etc, but on some occasions I arrive at 8 for whatever reason. It's interesting to see what the early starters get upto between arrival and 9. Some work but most are having their morning chat or surfing the net!

I travelled today, so literally started work at 7am and left the office for the hotel at 8pm. Normally on a non bank holiday weekends I leave really early...Sunday evening to be exact! so that I can get to my clients meeting at 9am on the Monday morning.

I've usually done my hours by Wednesday/Thursday, but unfortunately there's no overtime for me!

Im always fashionably late!!!

I blame the little one and his faffing about in the mornings, however thats all due to change soon when he starts school and has to be in on time, which in turn will make me turn up on time as well (I HOPE!!)

i cant be early or late
my office goes where ever i go so its all good.

Every day I get to work about half an hour early. But today for the first time, and as I type this, I'm arriving at 9am.. my actual start time.

Bet I get dirty looks from my colleagues for being late.

....just been greeted by the words "Good afternoon". :faint:

T*sser!

Ok, I wasn't, but would've been annoying if I had been.

I get to work early too due to school run, but I flat refuse to go in the building more than 30 mins early. So I sit in the car living the dream playing my favorite tunes on the Bose and do a quick scan on this forum. Lol :D

Or the equivalent when you leave at your finish time and some tool says "oh, having a half day are we?"

If I had a pound for every time I've heard that one...

I hate (wrong thread??) that people who finish half an hour later than me think they are getting a raw deal and that I am putting in less hours than them. What they fail to account for is the fact that I am starting an hour to an hour and a half earlier than them!

i always get in early then rub my bum on everyone's mouse, isn't that what everyone does...

i don't really :ninja: i tea bag them....

I work normal office hours 4 days a week, but im usually in at 8am and leave typically just after 5pm.
The 5th day involves a 5am start and two hour drive to Nottingham, usually arrive at 7 and leave around 4-5pm.

if i worked somewhere where some sad cnut got in early purposely everyday i probably wouldnt work their.
People wanting to have their heads emersed up the hierarchy anus makes a working environment hell

Spent 16 years going into London via the A2 year on year got longer and longer but the high light was every Thursday sit in traffic on Blackheath watching concord flying over and banking even better when the sun caught the delta wings.....
Now in M K 7 minutes or 10 if it us raining.
Get in bang on time ....does not matter have early or how late you stay behind you are just a number.....I have to clock in and if we clock outside our hours then the system go into meltdown.

6am starts this week for me (early shift). On average I'm about 5-10mins late every other day. but as I've now got a rep for it nobody really says anything anymore (used to get all the "afternoon" etc.) and just know I come in slightly late every now and again.

Next week on late shifts (2-10pm) however I'll average about 0-5mins late every other day. Great timekeeping I know!

Early shift week starts at 6am I clock in 5:59 every day got it down to a fine art now and back shift starts 2:15 and I get in at 2:10 again a fine art.

What I don't get is we have 2 guys who are 3 years and 7 years past retirement still working, starts at 7:30-4pm day shift but comes in on average at 6:15/6:30 every day then stands about talking to everyone else.

some people just come in early because they don't have anyone to talk to outside of work, especially the older people.

I tend to get in 5-10 mins early myself, after I drag myself out of my cosy bed!

Never been an hour early for work, but was nearly a week early for a shooting competition.
Last night I sorted out and packed all my gear, fuel'd the car, made sure I had enough stuff to listen too for the 3hr each way trip from Brum to Dorset, set the alarm on my phone to wake me at 5.00am. Then went onto the shoot forum to check how much ammo I would need only to discover the match is next weekend.

I was once three hours early for work, still drunk, went there to tell the boss i was too wasted to work today, thought id make the effort to show him i was a complete tosser rather than try to bullsh!t him on the phone.

It worked, he sent me home full pay for the day and let me work my nuts off to earn his respect again! Couldnt repair demolition machinary in that state, but he had no other reliable guys working for him! Needless to say i was never late again!

Now my office is my phone, its on 24/7 and i start work when it wakes me up in the morning!
