Service indicator

Anyone tell me how to reset the service indicator on my A3 2ltr 2009 plate

The service indicator light comes on advising the service is due in 7 days but I've just had the service done the garage didn't reset it

sorry bud that didn't sound right I was only asking how would I actually be able to tell .

It'll need resetting by a garage with the vw VAS system or by a friendly vcds cable owning forum member...

Odd that your garage couldn't do it?

It was done by Arnold Clark I wouldn't expect anything less from them. The fact they were a vauxhall dealership probably didn't help either they did the service as a good will measure for months of problems

Where are you based ? I'm sure a cable friend will help in exchange for beer tokens. It's a 2 minute job.

If you mean service showing on the dis then try this I know it's a tt in the vid but it also works for the a3.

99.9% sure that DIS stalk method only resets the oil service interval and not the main service. You will need someone to help you with a proper VCDS cable and software. Quick job and sure someone close to you will sort for a bit of beer money

Yip your right tried it this morn and it only resets the oil service

Weird because it worked for me, after I done it "service" displaying on the dis went and It didn't come back on till the usual service in 1500 miles. So I presume your still getting a message on the dis after trying it?.

Yip the service message went but came back after the ignition was switched off and on , the oil service will reset this way what year is your a3

Varies with years how the resets are done, eg. doing 08/09 onwards resents via vagcom has been a pita with vcds, but could be done manually instead of using SRI, not sure that's been resolved as yet, but still even manually with vcds is good & quick enough.
