Hi, looking for some eco mods for my standard 1.8t 190 avant. Wanting to increase the mpg when I'm just cruising and not pushing the pedal to the floor.

Looking for cost effective tuning not wanting to spend thousands.

Thanks

Rob

it would be cheaper not to bother and just use the money to pay for the extra fuel.

If you know how how to drive efficiently then you should be able to get reasonable MPG. If not then maybe go on a SAFED course?

Haha, getting 450ish out of a tank when driving like a grandad. Just wondered if I push it up more.

get a eco map and remove the restrictions ie better flowing CAT and exhaust system.

And to make it a little funny put a small brick under the accelerator so you can floor it :p

Buy a diesel if you want better fuel economy ! A similar 1.9 Tdi with a remap will do easily 600-650 miles for a tank full

Don't want a diesel, I getting enough mpg now really for only doing short journeys but always looking to get a bit more out of it. I'm guessing normal mods for the 1.8t will also increase mpg. Looking at k&n panel filter and remap. Exhuasts seem to very expensive compared to other cars :-(

Docurley what kind of bhp and do you get with your mods?

Rob

You are not going to get much better than 450 in a 1.8t no matter what you do! Thats a decent figure for these engines

Yeah happy with mpg considering we only do short journeys. Do have to drive like a old man but keeps the pennies in my pockets. Haha

I dont see 450 out of my 1.9tdi quattro if i was getting 450 out of my 1.8t quattro I would of kept that instead of the oilburner Id be quite happy if I was you lol.

Haha bet drive the oil burner a bit harder than I drive the 1.8t. Miles to empty was optimistic tho.
