Throttle sensitivity different on A3 Pedals and Aluminium Pedals ?

I have a DSG gearbox and ever since i got my car i noticed if im in 3rd or above if you press the accelerator pedal a reasonable amount then it will down gear in order to give you more power.Sometimes this feature annoys me as i am in 3rd and am not even pressing it that hard and it will down gear and the revs will be quite high when i don't need the extra power.I installed the aluminium pedals about a year ago and im wondering if the sensitivity for the gearbox to down gear will be higher on the aluminium pedals as they are made for the S3/RS3.

I only really thought about the pedals making it down gear more easily when my brother told me that is the most likely reason.But then it made me think that the golf GTD has the same 2 litre engine and uses these pedals so surely it shouldn't make a difference on my 140 .As you can see im in 2 minds about it and was wondering if anyone else noticed a difference in throttle response after fitting them ?

You should do a gearbox reset with VCDS, so it starts afresh which may help with gear change, but depends if you're pushing it to the floor as it has an actual kickdown stopper within the accelerator pedal, if you push this down it will always kickdown no matter what, that's by design.

Also are you driving it in S or D mostly, S will always react different to get higher revs easier with gas pedal, more power for turbo.

It is a valid question as its not just a pedal cover. it is a complete unit that is replaced.

Thats weird i was pretty certain that only S/RS cars were given the Aluminium pedals from the factory to add to difference between the A models.

I noticed the kick down stopper on my original pedals and tried to take it out and replace it as there is a cut-out for it in the aluminium pedals but it has lost it's springy feeling for some reason.I hardly ever press it all the way down as it will usually down gear before the halfway point so it doesn't make a difference if i floor it.I pretty much always drive in D mode cause i find S mode revs pretty high before it upshifts,which would be ideal if im driving pretty fast but i would normally just use the paddles if i am ever in that racy mood.It's probably the worst when i am in second and give it a little bit of gas and then it puts it into first what makes the rev counter go mad and people in the car think im trying to show off by ripping it.Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed this or had this issue,might just be my gearbox that needs a reset instead of the pedals but as thats the only thing i changed i thought it could be due to that.Thanks for the advice anyway,ill give the reset a go and see if it solves my issue.If not i can just go back to Audi to report the 7th issue ive had with my car since i bought it

Are you saying your new pedal doesn't have the kickdown stopper, if not then this needs addressing as there are manual & auto pedals.

Yeah when i got them they had the insert for the spring stopper but the actual stopper was not in them and i tried to put my original stopper in and it fitted perfectly but when i press it all the way down it doesn't spring back.I bought them as a set with the auto brake pedal off a seller who had already sold 8 on ebay germany. What would be the difference between the manual and auto accelerator pedal ?

Pressing the pedal quickly by a small amount, also results in down shifting.

Buy a pedal box, the sensitive accelerator pedal is down to the audi/vw throttle map. Its annoying, but having spent around 6 months and £1000 replacing parts, learning how to remap a car, and then email audi germany, becoming a dealer (on paper), trust me, buy a pedal box or become a millionaire so you can have a different car for every day of the week.

NHN how do you do the rest with vcds I've tried the key on and foot to the floor but could feel any change on gears box thanks
