Hey guys. I just put a new transmission In my 02 a4 1.8t auto transmission code fep not a cvt. The issue I'm having is that it works perfectly fine in reverse and sport mode but when I put it in drive or tip mode my gear indicators turn red. It is full of new fluid all the plugs are hooked up and are clean. It doesn't always go into limp mode usually if I drive it in sport mode then put it in regular drive it won't go into limp mode. I'm so lost any input would be great. And yes it had a fep code transmission in it originally.

Scanned, no codes come up yes the correct fluid was used I used pentosin atf 1 I have no cel's at all. Whenever the gear indicator lights up I just turn the car off then turn it back on and it's not lit up anymore till I put it in regular drive or tip mode..
It's 5speed as said in the first post it's code fep I don't know the number under the transmission code tag for sure it's hp-519 I believe
a 5h19 ZF autobox is listed for a rwd BMW.
If you could get the code off the box it would be easier.As far as i am aware there are 3 manufacturers of auto boxes for VW/Audi , Aisin Warner, ZF and Jatco. Parts are readily available for them all.

I haven't had a chance to get the numbers off the transmission yet. But I did replace the transmission computer and it is still going into limp mode when In drive. The car doesn't even need to be running even if I just turn the key to the on position and put it in drive it will go into limp mode. No cel 's at all. Getting annoyed!
And threw our Mac scanner on it to check transmission info and nothing is coming up on that either...
