Tut tut Chez, it was all your dirty clothes that caused the washing machine to break and the alarm sensor got broken while the wife was cleaning it, so no ebay for replacement wife allowed. Permission denied, lol. :) x

I want one, but wanted to ask some questions about the software which are unanswerable by Google, or playing with one in store.

ah furry ****!
these are the ones you get free with a phone aren't they? they look ok to me, but not really my bag i am afraid! your correct scotty will know the ins and outs i am sure! :sm4:

I didn't know you could get one free with a phone?

I've got a Galaxy S3, and I've had Samsung mobile products for the last 5 years. I'm doing an open university degree so I want a tablet with really good research, documentation and processing skills so I can do my work on the move. I just wanted to check out some of the functionality of the S pen and some of the software within the tablet.

It's just been made the first mobile/3G/4G Android tablet to be available on a standard mobile tariff so now is a good time to get one in that respect. Otherwise I would have been tied to an iPad...Eurgh.

i have the note 10.1 with the upgraded chip and software. What you need to know and I will try to answer.

Ahh, rad. So yours has the S-Pen and bits and pieces?

I was wondering how you find the word processing side of it? Whilst the whole "life companion" bullcrap that Samsung market the tablet for doesn't appeal to me, do you find it is easy and accessible to copy and paste, review images etc? I was worried because the one I tried in the store felt very laggy and quite slow.

In your opinion is it just a big phone? What do you use it for?

Yeh I have the s pen one an it works well for my needs. Copying an pasting works in the same way as the iPad. Hold down till copy pops up, select text then click copy. Typing with the pen is easy as the predictive text is quite smart on the Samsung. As for pictures it loads google fine and all the pictures on ASN. I don't think it's laggy and I was sold on the fact that you can add upto a 16gb micro sd. As for video the HD is flawless - sharp and clear. I use it daily to view sites, forums, streaming, pay bills, view PDF's.

Nothing wrong with the ipad..(apart from the price) they are rock solid...

Well said Dave, i love mine so much i now have the ipad mini as well to take over while the main one charges. :) x

Ahhh that's good then.

I've been trying to get an unbiased review, but most techies are like myself and are Apple or Samsung.

Do you find that it more often than not opens the full web page, or does it often load a mobile site like my S3?

Have you used the S-Pen to copy and paste images and things? When it cuts them out like Photoshop?

Just for you jardo. Pic of your motor on the tablet

It's opens up the normal website, sometimes it asks whether I want to load up the mobile version of the site. Yeh I use the pen more often than not. The photoshop software on there isn't too bad as you can see below

Well it totals at pretty much £93 so split that between the listed people. £7.75 each lol. If people want to start transferring money to PayPal they can. Doubt we're going to get anyone else on the list.

jaythebeast2000@yahoo.co.uk. And make sure it doesn't get reduced via fees lol.
