A4 avant 3.0 sline tdi faults

If I was buying again I'd go for something which had a minimum of production date of 2007 , so first registration year 07/57 ...

I bought a 2005 A6 3.0 TDi ... chain rattle fix is engine & gearbox out job@indi = £2K ...

Mine had 70K on clock@purchase, @80K 3x injectors out of spec, DIY@home install of 6x injectors £1280 ...
see the ones I'm looking at have 90/100k so what's chances these things have been done ?

Impossible question to answer. All you can do is check the history of every car you view.

x2...

 would need a crystal ball to be able to tell ...

Avoid long life serviced vehicles IMO ... ask for detailed information ...

Oil stamp services do not constitute as "superb" service history IMO ... been there as well :(...

Mine had FASH, it had had a service only 6mths prior to me buying@dealers...

The date stamp on the fuel filter was 2007, I bought 2011 ...

You should have seen the leafs in the air/pollen filter chambers ...

Ah so fash isn't always true ..... Haha guess il just have to ask when I go see the cars

Problem is people will deselect things, the intervals for some parts is too long ...

For instance fuel filter is every 40k, air filter is 60k, pollen filter it says 2 yrs :( ...

Here is link to my edition of service pages Link:- https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B6ybetYJ0wwMLVZESzBaR3JJcTA/edit?usp=sharing

My car was 2x sold as used approved by main dealers, when I went to my local main dealer (just after buying) querying where to start on a servicing POV he came out with a big list ... when I asked why such a big list he explained they do the minimum to used approved to make the maximum on sale ... they expect you to buy due to it being@a dealer...

I said thanks and did all at home, I then just out of curiosity rang the previous selling dealers and they came out with it had this "Multipoint check, etc, etc" I said please give me specifics I don't want a tick box list of nonsense ... they couldn't other than verify that it had had oil changes :( ...

The point about a full service history is that the stamps in the book aren't enough. It's the itemised invoices you need to ask for, as they provide proof of what has actually been done from time to time. Also, if the car has stayed in the Audi dealer system for its servicing, there should be a full record on Audi UK's database.

Not always on the database at audi, the car I'm looking at only had records until 2010 although he had itemised bills and servicing running into late 2012 for an audi garage

Forgot to ask, can anyone confirm this model engine asb 064503 if its the tdv cr with dpf?

ah ok cheers :) got 2 months to find mine so plenty of time to find a good one,

Will the 3.0 have a dpf ?

The car data sticker in the spare wheel well / service log will have a PR code relating to DPF ...

Ref link:- http://vag-codes.info/files/options/...tion-codes.pdf

On my A6 PR code below means no DPF but it has prep to have one if required ...

7GN Emission standard, EU4, DPF preparation

Then ones with DPF it will have this PR code on sticker...

7GG Emission standard EU4 DPF

Here is my A6 data sticker ...

That was my understanding, that a lit earning light would result in a fail, but I have been known to be wrong before.
nope as long as it passes the smoke test then its past. im a newly qualified MOT tester and was just wondering why it would fail. the new MOT reg's have changed since march 20. its funny as they have changed the air bag light one. if the light comes on it must turn off but if it does not turn on then its a pass. the most that you can do with a engine management light is pass and advise but to be honest a lot of people won't advise it as its not like your going to miss it

Can anyone tell me or confirm if the fuel pump belt needs replacing at 80k on the 3.0 engine? Just dropped by at audi and they mentioned it but I cannot find any info on it at all
