morning all

had my a4 2.0 tdi for 2 years now and the service light has come up. My cars done bang on annual 10k miles a year so now its 2 years old with 20k on the clock and due its first service. I've spoken to a few audi dealers and the information they're giving me is varying greatly. I've been quoted from £170 - £334 ranging from an interim service to a major service. Im totally confused as to what is the recommended schedule for my car and what i should be going with.

Please help.

depends on whether you are bothered if you get an audi stamp in the book.A major service is basically a change of oil/brake fluid (after two years) and filters, with visual checks of other componants.

thanks....no probs

Sorry to hijack the thread,

Johnny I am in the same position right now car done 40000 miles, the major service is for £359 & normal is £159

In major service they are changing fuel filter which is £86.99 do I really need this now ?

Also can I change air filter, pollen & dust filet myself ? I really don’t want pay Audi extra £100 for these 2 filters if I can do it myself.

Thank you for your help :salute:

I changed my fuel filter cost £23 and 20 mins if you have a ramp .How they justify £87 I don't no .

Id def do the small service at audi, and then get the fuel filter done locally. The air and pollen filter you can do yourself saving a significant amount, and get the dealer stamp

I paid £498.52 for 38000/ 3 year service and MOT. Included supplying and changing the multitronic gearbox oil, I supplied engine oil.

Didn't even get a tin of Audi sweets this time :(

This morning when I went to drop my car off the service guy was pushing me to go for FULL service & pay over £400

I asked him, how much for fuel filter ? he said £28.00 inc VAT, I said how can you justify £89.00 for fuel filter & he gone all quite :haha:
