Having a bit of a nightmare with my S3 :(

Recently had the top end rebuilt after finding second gear rather 4th. Spat the cam followers off with minimal damage. Anyway, had the head stripped and rebuilt and picked car up on Thursday. Car seemed to run fine, albeit a touch laggy and flat at the top end. Anyway, 15 miles ish into having the car back the CEL light came on. I've had a Snapon Diagnostic machine plumbed in to find it give fault code P000A. Something to do with the intake cam adjustment valve operating too slow. We cleared the code and now the car is really really flat...ie feels like NO boost even though you can hear turbo spool up. CEL light is yet to come back on.

Anyone any ideas? Would replacing the valve cure this problem? Any help greatly appreciated

I know. VERY VERY lucky. Is the N205 valve prone to failing? If it has been removed etc, would it need recalibrating or something?

Sports Tech in Ilkeston. I'm 90% sure it's the valve being faulty and needing to be replaced. I'm going to get them to check timing and plug in to it next Saturday. If timing ok, will replace valve and see if that sorts it

Yea not sure i'd ever feel the same about a car that had its top end mashed, wouldn't take it on a tour of Europe let's say lol

I'm with you on that one. Car will be used as part ex when the new S3 is released anyway :D Just waiting on that phone call :)
