I'll focus on the shiny then,LOL

Anything near 500bhp will be fecking insane! Come and see me once it's bedded in ;)

Yeah will do mate....cant wait :)

Although you could always pop down my way as will be having a party in the bext month or so ;)

Update

Nothing on the car itself but have started pulling the old engine apart for a refurb (main reason is to have the block and head skimmed)

Can you "pop over" here with it too?

How's it going? Has Bill started on it yet?

Will happily "pop" over there if you are paying the fuel bills as keep eyeing up your area on a very regular basis just really dont need people to tempt me ;)

The engine looks in a supprisingly better state than I thought it would? Although did expect the pistons to look cleaner than they do, but did try one and it seems they will wipe clean

Suppose at the end of the day most of the engine is only 10k old and should make a lovely lump for someone once the block and head has been decked and all seals renewed ;)

no bill has'nt started yet, other than get missing parts for vband hotside..
cam cap covers arrived yesterday thanks dude

Bill do you think it would be possible to make another downpipe? I'm planning on running the same manifold and hotside...

Sorry bill thought the downpipe flange would be something you'd be sorting

The cam caps in one piece then? Did you find the fpr nipple and wmi nozzles?

Got an idea of what nozzle will want to run it on? As its only the small one in there at the mo and guess the large one is to big looking at the size of the hole in it lol

yea the bits arrived, nozzles etc

The turbo should have come with its outlet flange and clamp from my perspective.. the parts cost £93 from Owens and are not inclusive of the DP price no.

Ouch thats not cheap! I will contact atp turbo as never got flanges or any clamps just a bare housing and pressume this should have come with them then?

nope, not unless you specifically order them dude.. everything is extra with all these guys

I have bought them now.. and some lockplates for the chra as the chra to tial hotside bolts seem to want to unwind if left as std.. I use nords, Owens rebuilt mine with these small lock plates..which should work well also and are thinner so dont interfere with the banjo bolts

Cheers Bill lockplates will definately be a plus side

Can't believe the total cost of running a tial hotside with the price of the clamps, flanges and of coarse the dearer hotside from the offset......although there products are lovely mind you and am fed up of downpipe nuts coming undone on a monthly basis lol

Little Update

I managed to finish taking the old engine apart yesterday and am happy with how clean and fresh it all looks including bearings etc, there appears to be no signs of wear or play in the small ends or pins which is good :)

I had the usual fun trying to undo the crank bolt having to squat and put some weight on one and tug on the other

Pistons were supprisingly clean, especially underneath

Crank looks all good and well

All laid out after a quick rinse in the wash tank

Plan is to give the block a dip in the ultrasonic cleaner, have both block and head skimmed/decked then reassemble with all new seals and the obvious 1 use bolts replaced

As all the bores bearings and rings look so fresh i'm going to leave them and then the new buyer shouldn't really have to do much of a run in as everythings all broken in nicely ;)

Well not quite as is an 82mm with 8.5 cr although this will be raised a bit with the deck and skim and also tempted to put an N/A gasket on there to raise it another 0.5 as have got both types of gasket already sitting there lol

Managed to sort out my bent alloy so can hopefully get my AD08's on ready for when I get the car back

Pictures dont really show it to well but the lip of the alloy is folded over slighly and the area that the tyre beads on to had a slight flat spot

Heated it up to aneal it then made some adjustments with the press, I had to repeat this several times doing it bit by bit as dont want to do to much in one go and stress the material to much

Managed to get it back to a position that you wouldn't be able to tell anything was ever wrong unless you was really looking for it :)

Obviously it needs to be repainted, which think will stick with artic white as means if I can get a decent colour match ill only have to do the one which is less hassle and will hopefully be all done to have the yoko's on for summer :)

bump for picture of Sandips rear silencer.. was there a link in here somewhere? been looking but dont have time to trawl the pages in this thread, thanks

its ordered... they now make the silencers to order, and will start them tuesday.. in between time front end downpipe to consider.. will see if i can squeaze in 3.5" downpipe in there.. *try*

Bill, do you know the dimensions of that rear box. Thats the same style I want to make but reuse the S3 tips.

Lovely cheers...cant believe they make them to order?

Hoping that if 3.5" is possible it will aid spool? Although I'm sure the 3" cat back should also help?

Knew there was something else meant to ask you on the phone earlier. ... would you be able to put an extra lambda bung in as will be putting an afr gauge in once have decided a brand of gauges will be using (as want it to match the boost gauge once we see what boost range will be needed)

Cheers

Little update which have kept quiet as wanted to see the outcome first

When I was cleaning up my milltek back box ready to sell I noticed a crack and could see it had been blowing slightly, I looked online and found that milltek have a lifetime warrantee, so set about to following theyre claim procedures and sent them some pics for them to send me out a new back box without me having to even push for it
You have to out down a £150 deposit until you send your old one back but I really cant fault theyre customer service, had no issues and they replaced it happily even though is nearly 4 years old :)

WOW, that's insane. After 4 years I would of thought they would of just welded up the damage for free.

awesome customer service!

That is a result with the exhaust mate, glad things are coming together nicely too.

You have just reminded me i need to see where i can place another lamba bung too as i want to run with an afr gauge just for peace of mind.

Yeah its wicked customer service hats off to them, I thought they'd just tell me to swivel or offer to repair like you say, which if they had I would of just got a friend to weld it up as would have been cheaper than the courior costs :)
