Sportback build dates?

Hi All
Think I was one of the lucky ones, ordered end of Jan and changed spec in mid Feb to - 2ltr Diesel, SB S line,Misano Red, kept standard sports suspension, Comfort Pack, Privacy Glass, Audi Audio System, Dab Radio, Folding Mirrors, Aluminium Rails and Free Sat Nav. I was originally expecting delivery end of May ( It had a build date first week in April ) To my surprise, I had a call on wednesday to say the car, being leased, is ready for collection today. The frustrating part is , due to work commitments I cant get to the garage til next Tues AHHH!!

Congrats johna3s, enjoy, even changing spec didn't delay your delivery date, it may have even promoted it!

I ordered end of march and still awaiting a build date. IMO, I'm starting to think the dealer /factory are waiting for MY2014 (week22) before giving me a build date. I can only liken this to waiting for a take off slot at Heathrow, change your options and someone nicks your slot! Having said that, I've no idea how the Audi factory works.

The only information I've had fron the dealer is for an August delivery.

After reading the posts on this forum, it appears that once a the car is being built, it takes about 4weeks to delivery. Is this true?
 
Builds seem to be quickening up a bit...i was first given an estimated date by Lex of 9/9/13 which has been moved to 2/9/13 and today got moved again to 27/8/13...Good news (except it won't be 63 plate!)
 
I've been told 8.07.13 really hope it comes sooner!!!
 
Ordered 24 February and were advised it would be built week 18 (29 April to 5 May) with the vehicle arriving at dealer mid to late May. Was thus surprised to hear yesterday that vehicle had arrived and the salesman was wanting to arrange collection.
 
Mine was ordered 6.2.13 bit miffed to be honest seem to have had a long wait! Wondering if its the pano roof???

I asked my dealer several weeks ago if any components were in short supply and possibly hold up times. Your spec seems straightforward.

Which dealership was your order placed with? Any other people in here who have used the same dealer? What feedback are you getting from your dealer?
 
I had confirmation today that my car was built in week 18 and now at the port to be shipped to the UK. I've been informed I should take delivery in approx 2 weeks. Originally expected it at the end of May/1st week of June.

Order - 20 something of Feb
original build week 20
confirmed build week 18
At port now to be shipped
delivery /collection - 22/23rd May - not definite yet :)
Dealer - Audi Ridgeway

I would say Audi are shaving off at least 1-2 weeks on the delivery.

Same for me:

Ordered 17th march
Told September delivery
Initial bulid date: 8/7/13

Collected the brides A1 sportback On Saturday gone, whilst there I asked about adding ACC to my A3 order, when rep checked what my build date was it now showed 17/06/13.

really coming forward, which i'm really pleased... but probs now no Free DAB due to new build week... bit of a bummer. Still awaiting what affet adding the ACC will have hopefully push it back past w22 haha

Great news Carlos - looks like you are playing the game to get the free DAB. ;). Careful though, do not want to find when Audi open the book for S3, S3 sportback and 2.0TDI 184PS you get caught up in the frenzy with all those orders going through. :whistle2:

It is good to hear that dates in some cases are improving. Not sure what is happening for Ruthus though as his wait does seem excessive.
 
Really feel like I'm on my own!!! Only asked beginning of the week so that's the correct date for now!!!
 
Hi Ruthus_1...you are not alone. I ordered 23rd March, expected delivery in August. Nothing special on my options either.

"we are not alone" - ordered mine 2 week of March and have a build week mod july for Mid August collection - whicch is 5 months, so same as your build time. i am defering collection until 1st September as on hols for most of August
 
It's really rubbish when people who ordered a month after you are getting theirs 2 months earlier! It's a good job I'm in love with the SB or think I'd of told them to stick it!!!!

You are not alone! Ordered mine last week in march, told then August delivery, I havn't even got a build date! Maybe I should ask, since it's been 6 weeks now. How long, after ordering, should the dealer come back with a build date?

Seems very odd I ordered on the 31st march two weeks later build date week 24 confirmed. Couple of correspondences to say still on track. I would get in contact with your dealer.

Shooot.... added the ACC, Advance Key and Hill Hold.... no movement on Build week ... still the 17th June.

No DAB for me then lol

Don't take delivery then Razor, we're not, its gonna be here about July but the Audi Showroom know we want it 1sept on a 63 plate :)

I know your not looking to take the car until September I just like to keep you updated

:D Email received yesterday confirming car has been built and has left the factory. Really looking forward to it now!
Hasn't been too much of a wait considering original estimate was Aug/Sept but the next week or so is going to drag I'm thinking.

Ordered A3 Sport 1st week in Jan I am picking it up in 44 hours it has been a long wait.
 
Ordered my A3 S Line Sportback on 14th April, just had call to confirm build week 22!
 
Ordered a 1.4 CoD beginning of April, now have 1st week of June as a build date!
 
hmm...I ordered mine late Jan and was told would be ready in June......I was told the same thing then as I was told yesterday (don't laugh)..it will be the first...yes FIRST 1.4tfsi COD SB in the country.....now expected in 10 days (though I cant actually have it due to my current contract until 6th June)...could I REALLY be the first COD owner?....I'm sure someone will come along to contradict that statement!

Indeed I will...obviously couldn't test drive one at the time of order....budget wouldn't stretch to a 2.0tdi (currently drive a Scirocco 2.0) ...the only way to an s-line was the 1.4 route....test drove the 122ps version (3dr) and was impressed enough to take a gamble on a 140 unit....although it kinda goes against the grain to have ordered a car that I haven't even driven! If the facts and figures are to be believed then it should be a winner....I'm counting down the days but also trying to forget about it and wishing the time away all at the same time!

My A3 SB 2.0TDI SE was ordered through Skyfleet Leasing on 13th February and I have been told it will be delivered next Thursday 23rd May. I was told it was loaded on a boat on 23rd April so 1 month
 
Ordered mine 17th March, still no confirmation or build week.Not happy really feel I should of heard something by now.

I ordered mine last week of march, emailed dealer, no repnonse. I phoned up today and asked about build date, and dealer said week 32. Will wait for 1st sept for 63 reg plate. If I hadn't phoned I don't know if dealer would have informed me of build date!

I have made contact with the dealer but they say there are no updates.

Not sure you'll see the car before September anyway.

Still waiting on a delivery date myself. Car was built week 18. Order placed in February. Dealer said yesterday it hasn't cleared UK customs yet. He was also playing hide and seek from me last week. Had to seek Miss Marple (the wife) on him to hunt him down. The vessel arrived into the UK a week ago. I could understand if the consignment had been shipped over from Colombia and was being held up for obvious reasons but does it really need to be at the port authority for that amount of time coming over from Germany when surely vehicle vessels are frequently doing that journey between Germany and the UK...

Apologies for voicing my frustration. I feel and share everybody elses frustrations as well regarding build date slots etc...
 
SJW - interesting......now....my dealer told me a maximum of 10 days...but stated that the car was at the port awaiting shipping....expecting it within 7 days but 10 just in case...of course I wont know if this comes true until 25th May...though I do have a buffer of an additional 12 days before my current motor goes back
