A4 soft top not working pls help!!!!!

Hi everyone, thanks in advance for any help, I have a 2003 a4 soft top when I press the button windows go down but nothing
Else happens, when I start car the soft top light flashes for a little while, gave it to what I taught was a vw specialist in leeds
For diagnosing fault they advised pump needs changing at cost of £450 so I agreed once they changed this it still did not work
So they then changed micro switch and still no look and finally they say that the diagnostic machine is still showing pump fault
Therefore they believe its the latches at £127 each, not sure what's goin on they just seem to be changing parts but roof still not
Not working, does anyone have any suggestion, many thanks for reading

did you do a manual reset before you sent it in or did they ?

I tried the manual reset but to no luck and not sure if they did
They told me they have repaired many soft tops before so
know what they are doing but iv had a really bad experience cars
been there nearly 2 weeks

does it try to open at all ?
if its showing pump again after the new pump id be checking the roof modual behind the rear drivers panel
iv come across this twice they both let the windows drop but nothing else

It doesn't do anything I think if I recall correctly can hear a hissing noise at top of windscreen side of soft top,
this module your referring to is there any way to check if its working,

Also just to mention after new pump was fitted, garage aside it's the latches because the diagnostic Is showing pump do the latches have anything to do with pump, or am I being taken for a ride by this garage,

A scan should flag any micro switches etc not working properly. In my experience 90% of for issues are micro switch related or it needs a reset.

I believe the garage has done a check on there system and they say its flagging up ther motor fault only which they have replaced

Then it might be worth a full manual open and close to reset everything.

They are replacing the latches tommoro so if they call to say it still not working will ask them to do this but really they should know I think iv given it to the wrong even though they are supposed to best people for it, also would anyone know where I stand with this garage as they diagnosed fault and replaced part but still not working, and they wanted more time to look in to it and replaced more parts without any luck, i feel cheated, thanks

Hi, well the hood pretty much works now but occasionally the back part that goes up so that the hood can go into the storage bay freezes but if open and close it a little it starts to work again,so not 100% but still works , thanks

Sounds like the motor is working fine, it could more than likely be a micro-switch check your fault codes and compare the measuring block values against what is on RossTechs website.

The garage replaced motor and was wanting to replace hatches but I decided to take car back as seemed like I was changing to many parts, and local scrapper said it could be the ecu for the back part that lifts as its a common fault but to be honest I'm happy the way it is. It working most of the time and when it does freez just have to turn button other way for a second and then continue in the motion it was in,

i did mention that it could be the roof modual early oninto your problem
the pump has nothing to do with the latches
but the roof ecu runs it all
