like when the B7 was winning and james had to resort to these tactics..........

This thread reminds me of the Cool Wall sessions on Top Gear where Hammond and Clarkson have a fist fight over whether a car is cool or not, and Hammond ends up eating the photo.

OK your sat at a car dealers and theoretically speaking you have £10k in your pocket and as it just so happens there are 2 S4 Avants, same colour, same price same mileage.

Based purely on looks...as the thread title suggests, the b6. All day long.
However, I do agree, there is an element of a newer car would be perceived to be better in terms of reliability, but that wasn't the question asked by the OP.
So again, b6 without a doubt based on looks alone.
Older cars are often better looking, I do agree. However, I don't listen to music over the stereo, I force the wife and kids to perform a trio whenever we drive.
Occasionally I do put an 80's mix tape on though.

I'm biased towards the B7, but only in DTM or RS form... the standard A4s looks better as a B6. Or B8.
I'm not that fussed on facelifts. But having said that, I prefer the big front grill on the B7. Then I have another issue in that although it is really trivial, I hate the fact that the cigarette lighter is not concealed like the B6.

Facelift B5s had them as well.
Why did Audi change it?
It's a nice little feature I think.
I can't make my mind up who to vote for.
I like the looks of the B6 but I prefer the gadgetry of the B7.

I'm assuming there is more because of its age.

Apart from maybe auto wipers, nothing springs to mind that the B7 has over the B6, apart from looking a bit 'modern' .... but as we've already discussed, newer isn't necessarily better!

You seem to be an A4 owner trying to bask in the glory of the RS4! I accept that the awesomeness of that car will always reflect well on it's lower brethren, but to keep it in perspective you need to compare like for like.

no jamesy baby, i do not clutch to the extreme fantasticness of the RS4, and drive around thinking, "yeah i have a car that if you squint and put ear plugs in, from 100metres could pass as an RS4, but i am merely stating, even audi realised they were onto a winner style and produced a championship winning touring car, plus an amazing hyper car on the B7 style!
because the B6 did not cut it style wise! and was not worth the bother
and they were correct!
