New a3 sportback gearbox problems

Had my a3 sportback 2.0tdi s line, 6 speed manual a week and just had to have it recovered due to the following issues: when changing from 2nd to 3rd the geartsick is not springing to neutral in order to smoothly go into 3rd, instead intermittently goes towards 1st also when the gearstick is pushed from neutral towards the right hand side, towards 5th and 6th the gearstick fails to spring back to neutral, anyone know of what the cause may be or aware of any issues? This is my first audi and I'm very disappointed !

Its not stupid, 8l model is up to 2003 8p model is 2004 till 2011 i think. 8v is your model, which is 2011/2012 till present. Hope that explains it a bit for you. Dont ever be shy about asking questions, we are all really helpful and knowledeable. We all help each other. x
