Took the car to the garage where the father in law works (get it looked at for free) which is a SEAT Garage.

The AC was not blowing cold, they re gassed it as it was empty but it is still not blowing cold. I so spoke to the mechanic who said the computer said it was control fault but he is not sure if it means a faulty wire or control unit etc. he said the wireing of them is different from a SEAT so would have to look into it further for me.

Have you guys any ideas? It blows hot air then when switched to cold the air is cooler but not ice cold so it is not circulating the refrigerated gases around.

thanks

Sounds like it could be the compressor pump but I'm no air con expert!

When the ignition's on, engine off, and you switch to Auto on the air-con, can you hear a click which tells you the clutch has engaged in the compressor?
If it does, it means it's driving but not compressing. If the system is run empty, then there is no lubricant to the compressor. :(

If your ac was totally empty you must have a large leak more than natural losses through the shaft seal if your a has held its charge I would check the fuse that supplies the clutch also it could be tripped on hp or lp due to faulty switches I would also check the resistance of your clutch coil and for a 12 volt supply failing that it could be choked with moisture as it has been empty and open to atmosphere
