I have an Audi since I was 19 and have never been refused a loan car. Have always demanded one due to working commitments.

Usually the excess is around £500 and they give you whatever vehicles that have in their service stock.

I have had an A1, A3, A4, A5 and A6 all ranging from piddly 1.2 engines to 3.0 beasts. I always ask for the A5 now.

Best thing to do is don't panic, you'll soon get use to whatever they give you! :D

Yeah just abit nervous about driving something that size takes me weeks to get used to size of a new car dont want to hit a curb or anything in it just have to see what they give me

well vw always seem to give me an UP! ( take my audi there since its closer)

I got a brand new convertable 225 TT, full options when I was about 18 as a loaner when my A2 was booked in. I remember it well.

Just ask for something smaller like an A1. I have never had a request for a specific model turned down.

I was refused a car from Leeds audi last year at the age of 19. :wtf:

Or you could just man up

If you can't handle a slightly larger car.

Can you handle a car?

:ninja:

Totally agree with you guys!

If you can't drive a large sized car, then you need to go back to driving school lol

I have driven many different cars, ranging from tiny to ****** huge and I have never felt un-happy or nervous about a bigger car, love them actually, specially my previous A6, massive ****** thing!

It's just a car at the end of the day, 4 wheels, steering wheel, engine, etc, etc

Just take things a bit wider, be more cautious when reversing etc and you'll be fine mate.

When I had my Clio, I had to drive my Dad's Zafira for a week whilst mine was off the road and I didn't have any problems!

Yeh sweet mate was up ther just then they needed to see my car to check if the armrest would fit i asked the salesman what would i be getting he said probly an a1 or a4 sline

fit the armrest your self

Get it in it and enjoy it for heavens sake man. They've all got 4 wheels and an engine at the end of the day. You seem pretty sensible so you'll be fine

Las year aged 20 they gave me an audi a1 1.4tsi loved the little thing lol

Half the fun of a loaner is getting a preverbal roller skate and then thrashing it. Then you get back in your own car and really appreciate how much better it is.

Last loaner I had was a new Mini. Horrific! When I got back in the A3 I pulled up at the first junction and braked so hard I nearly went through the windscreen! Not quite so much pressure as required in the Mini!

I had my A3 in for a week last week and they just gave me a 62 plate A6 avant s line without batting an eyelid. Had more toys than the starship enterprise, didn't want to give it back, was like driving a cruise ship! You soon get used to the size!

Haha that's crazy. I got given a 5dr 1.2 TFSI A1 at the weekend. Was a little disappointed but is exactly what I expected. Was a pleasure to get the A3 back at the end of the day!

Had to give my car in for some warranty work a couple weeks back and they asked to keep the car for a few days so they decided to give me this...........

I loved ripping the life out of it for a couple days but got so many looks due to the "racing" styling :racer:

I took mine in for a service and repair work and on both occasions got a choise of an Audi A1 TSFI or an A5 TSFI

I took the 1.6TDI A3 in for a service and got a 1.6TDI A3 cab in return! Don't think they trusted me.. :ninja:

To be fair to the OP, an A6 is a large car and you are effectively handed a liability with the excess of "somebody else's" car so are even more conscious of it.

I had an A5 Sportback as a loan car, very nice, made the A3 feels so crude and rough.

I think that looks mint lol

I just had an a6 3l v6 derv for the week and completely agree with the op. The a6 is massive however I was a lot happier with it and auto than the a5 previously loaned to me. Take extra care on the twisties and you'll be fine. Raise the driver seat helps too. There is a 1k excess, they also promised me if anything happened they would give reasonable time to pay too!

A4 Avant 140tdi.
A4 18T Saloon.

Fine cabin, disappointing car (x2)

Before the horses heads, kneecapping and 12,000% interest rate kicks in?

I handed in my a3 BE for and ABS fault under warranty and I told them I would need a car for 2 days as I was going to Birmingham on business.

Thinking I would be getting a roller skate A1 which would be stripped out, I packed my Tom Tom, IPod and a couple of CDs just in case.

They gave me the keys to a fully loaded 13 plate A4 SE Technik DSG with literally 30 miles on it. The interior dash still had some of the protective coating on it and they had not even put the matts in it, they were still in the boot.

Vey nice indeed. Not particularly fast but comfortable compared to a BE A3 and the sat nav was awesome. It had like 3d mapping on it and the gearbox was 8 speed!!!! I kept seeing M8 when it was in manual mode and I thought they only did 7 speed DSG units nowadays.

I need a service on mine in 5000 miles. I can't wait to take it back in to see what I get. I hoping for a A5 3.0tdi or a TTS !
