Hello

So my relentless V2 manifold has cracked.
Thought it was blowing from the turbo to manni gasket, but i could feel it blowing from rear where they all come in to one at the turbo.
Can i get it welded back up?
Does it need special welds?
Or is it scrap?
The crack is about 3 inches long.
Any info much appreciated

Sorry to hear buddy. Maybe call badger 5 to see if he'll do it for you?

What gasket did you use? have you tried taking a pic?... did you have it reinforced or is it an out the box manifold?

Thanks bud
If it needs special welds, then i will have to contact bill.
The only thing is im in kent and my youngest daughter is about to drop here first baby grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and shes in milton keynes.
So im on call as so to speak.
Catch 22

Out of the box no special welds.
Audi gaskets, you told me when i fitted to use proper gaskets thanks by the way:arco:
Will try to get a pic up

heres the pick
Sorry i had to hold a torch and take with my phone.

if you rotate the pic 90 degrees and stand at the drivers wing, remove the red pipe into the turbo, you get an idea where the crack is.

Blimey that is a big crack! Mine has a tiny hairline crack that doesn't blow a the moment but you have an impressive crack lol

Thanks lol
hope you dont say that on a first date.

No
Couldnt for the life of me get the bolt through the hole in the bracket.
I think thats been my downfall and chasings 911s on the way to work;)

Same as me. No way the bigger would line up. I did get my mani welded before fitting to give it some extra strength and has now lasted a whole year but does have tiny hairline cracks. I am expecting to change it in the not too distant future!

If you have to remove yours to fit a new one I strongly recommend you make a support bracket fit or get a custom one made maybe.

Thanks
Bracket will be top priority next time.
Anyone got any ideas if the mani can be welded back up, special welds required?

Regards

If the welder can get to it ok you may be lucky, got a perspective shot? ideally it will want tigging, but i suppose someone could get a mig in there..afterall there is nothing much to lose

Thanks Dave.
Its coming off and see if local place can weld it up.
If they cant do it, will have go back to stock for the mo.

Looks like the neighbours are gonna see my inner demons again:banghead:

I won't start on problems then lol but no chance I'd be taking the v2 off every 6 month
