Just thought I would share my experience of what I did this morning with you all. Was trimming some branches off the tree that overhangs my detailing studio/barn. Got the branches on the deck to saw them up which I had nearly finished doing and onto last large piece when all of a sudden....the ****** saw catches on a knot and off it goes......straight across my L/H thumb on the down stroke......OUCH!!!!

Now the pain that ripped thro my hand was to say the least......amazingly sore. I look down and see all this blood pouring out of my finger to find that the saw had gone right through my fingernail just above the cuticle, nail bed and almost through my finger....if it hadnt been for my fingernail I would of sawn off the tip of my L/H thumb.

A massive 'woop woop' goes out to the makers of superglue as thats exactly what I used to stop the bleeding and stick the end of my finger back on......it hurts like **** but hey I have all my fingers still intact allbeit held together with some glue and bodge tape.

No detailing for me for a few days.....BOO!!!!

Ouch!

Superglue is one option, the other is hospital. I would choose hospital:laugh:

Right yous lot......I've just endured ripping off my bandage so you can have your photo. Now remember this wound goes all the way round the other side too. I think I've done a grand job at glueing myself together.

Hahahahaha knew it was coming. I can quite easily re-create the incident using your finger Chez.......then you'll meet PAIN!!! LOL

The photo doesnt do it justice.......the saw actually cut through the top of the finger first and then down thro the nail. Its a hell of alot better looking now than it was when it was kinda hangin off.

I would think it will take more than two days of drink to quench the pain on that finger. Just wait until you try and put you hand in your pocket.

I finished remapping a guys Audi A4 about 1630 that had driven down from Inverness and when I took it for a test drive and took the handbrake off I smacked my finger against the gear stick surround and felt the tip of my finger move and wobble slightly. More glue please. Had to get out of the car and scream as he may of thought I was about to kill him.

My little one Jamie. He fell in school and was complaining of a sore arm me and the wife had a look and it looked fine. A full week of teakwondo training, doing wheel barrow races, press ups and sparing, school and a weekend later and he was still saying it was sore so off to the doctors after school only to be sent to the hospital cause he had broke his radial bone down next to his wrist.

There was no swelling or fluid build up around the sore area. But we felt bad that we had left him the week even the doctors at the hospital were surprised it was broken due to the lack of swelling.

Are you not going to get it checked over at hospital?

Nope. What are they gonna do? Open the wound, clean it, stitch it and have me wait for afew hours to do so.....No thanks. Its clean and has stuck down well so no need in my books. If my finger falls off in the next week or so then I may change my mind. lol

Ouuuuuch! That looks painful! Watch out for loss of feeling in the finger tip - you could well have done some damage to the nerve.

I slipped with a Stanley knife a few years ago and gave myself a nice deep cut on the side of my index finger. Following morning, I couldn't feel the tip of my finger. Long story short, I spent 3 days in hospital and I'd completely severed the nerve and had to have microsurgery to repair it. I then spent the following 2 weeks in a splint.

That is a nasty cut mate, I've nicked myself with a wood saw a few times and they even stingless a *****. I imagine yours made your eyes water a little.
Loving the pic!

A self clean and superglue shut... I hope you don't end up regretting it.

Get yourself down to the hospital mate!

Redneck stitches, like it!

Should of used Dermabond mate, works just as good as superglue but helps in healing the wound as well.

Oh and as Nicki said, watch out for loss of feeling!

and with that! am out.......................................................................etc etc

Just read this...Hmmm i did nearly the same and superglued it,,,, it was only temp till i got to the hospital as it was spurting out...
I got the biggest bollocking of my life by a doc, who basically said you could have caused a blood clot in your heart/lungs if that had got into the blood stream and got carried..then set

Good luck..
