Interesting Dump Valve Information For New Buyers And Owners. Servicing Etc

checked it.. 710n instead of the 007/yellow (old) and its wooshes Pshhhhhhh stylee.

Hold it at about 60-70 maintaining speed on a dual carriage way or somewhere and see if it gives a prolonged honk lol. Giving it the beans its usually fine. Sometimes giving it some then short shifting gives a quick little whistle sound along with the normal tsh.
 
Hhm maybe its fine on the Lupo but iffy on S3`s...lol. Seriously though i have no idea why they`ve started to do it. Im glad its not just mine though. Think i need to get the Go-Pro out and get some better recordings.
 
Without looking through posts is everyone thats experiencing the issue on the standard map? Dont know if that would make any difference but you never know?
 
I think the farting is when the diaphragm is trying to balance between vacume and boost and it wobbles a bit. But since changing the OE tip to a forge I'm sure it's not happened
 
Nope not happening for me anymore with the forge. It's bliss lol
 
Thank god I've found out what this noise is! It does my head in and makes sense now as it did it when I 1st had the car (Oem valve) went away when I put a 007p on, then when swapped back to a Oem this noise I've noticed has appeared again around 50ish mph! Will another Oem valve fix this then?

ah ok.. its boosts good, doesn't sound wrong either when it dumps, but just at the 50mph speed on a duel carriageway you can here the weird noise. the missis cant hear it when I try ask her where abouts she thinks its coming from haha. its not that loud, just annoying as said sounds like your blowing over the top of a bottle.
 
mine doesn't fart, it sounds like your blowing over a bottle when at a certain rev range. I'm gonna try a new valve and check what it does then.

Aswell as about 5 other people on here? Dont think so lol.

They all made exactly the same so nothing wrong with my car. Probably a dodgy batch. If my car was fcked then the Forge would make funny noises aswell and it doesnt.

Either way mines fine now so im happy.
 
Mine went away too with a Forge, but I after reading an oem valve was fine to use, and didn't need servicing, I took my forge off cleaned it up so i'd hold boost and sold it. The noise is there again now with the oem valve.

My forge was leaking quite bad, so with the oem valve back on it does perform better, but as said by a few, this odd noise appears. I have no idea how old the oem valve is, it was on the car when i brought it.

Lupo runs stock new 710 dv... works as it should.. vents fart free :)
 
I changed back to the stock DV a few weeks back and it started farting on part throttle last week!
 
How do we "amaze you"? Whats your problem with this situation?

If peoples are doing it then why disagree? It`s happening so you arent helping to find out why, just sucking Bill off.

around 10 peoples are doing it...not just a freak occurance of just one or two cars.

Mine was doing it before N249 bypass also...

Someone did but cant remember who and whether it was in this thread or another on a similar subject.

Grab a beer bottle or anything glass bottle wise and blow over the top of it. That whistling sound is EXACTLY what it sounds like on part throttle.
 
Driving to work this morning 60mph, 2500rpm, 0psi boost on the boost gauge slightly lifting and applying the throttle I figured out I could play a tune! I think with a little more practice I'll be able to play the Jonny Briggs theme tune!

How odd, mine is definitely completely silent, I've been listening out the last few days, even at 50mph part throttle in 5th/6th.

Funny that, it's probably because your dump valve isn't ****ed like theirs...
