Seen a nice new mtb on ebay but its 100 miles away...will a bike go in the boot of my car???

I doubt you'll get a full size Motor Torpedo Boat in the boot of an A4 :tumble:

Sorry -but for those of us "of a certain age" MTB = Motor Torpedo Boat, instead of MounTain Bike

Not sure about a saloon, but IIRC you often have to take the front wheel off to fit a bike in the rear of an Avant.

With the seats down it will fit. Worst case you mite have to take both wheels off, but I used to cram mine in my mk3 fiesta years ago. I'm fairly confident it will fit

Are there A4 saloons with rear seats that drop?

I managed to get my road bike in with the wheels off but it was an awkward squeeze. Depends on the size of the bike I suppose, but think you've a good chance of it fitting.

Mine does mate yeah, but you are right, some of them are fixed in place. Which I forgot about lol

Cheers mate didn't know that!!

Wish mine did, would make it a much more useable car!! For such a massive boot I find it quite limited.

its daft that they don't just have folding seats throughout the range really. Like you say it makes it much more useable. Only downside to the saloon is you can only fit in the boot, what you can physically get through boot it's self, which can also be a pain

It's because they want to charge more for folding seats.
