I am planning my mods for the 2.0 TFSI that i will be buying.

Im looking to upgrade induction obviously, so some idea on brands to go for there?

Also to be doing the intercooler, apparently this model already has a front mount intercooler and you can just replace it with a bigger one and still use mostly the same pipes? is this true.

Would i need a diffrent exhaust or would standard be fine? if i was to upgrade it would have to pass MOT and not loud pref!

But the main question is, with an uprated induction and intercooler, would i get the bhp to 265 with these mods and would it have the same performance of a standard S3? (it remaps to around 240 with stock internals.)

Im just talking engine and a 0-60 time, 7.1 seconds with quatrro 2.0 and 5.7 seconds for S3. and not drivability with shocks etc.

Thanks, JJ

Is it a Quattro, because that will be a huge factor in the 0-60 time power aside.

Hi mate, I am in exactly the same boat. I just bought a standard 2.0T FSI Quattro as well. So far I have ordered Carbonio CAI, Neuspeed charge/intercooler piping, Forge Twintercooler, Milltek TBE, rev D diverter valve and a Shark STS to remap to Stage 2. Will let you know how I get on!

I think every car is different too.. Mines a 2.0TFSI DSG FWD and with launch control on a dry road that'll run a 5.9 0-60, only mod being a remap.

ahh right, thats not too bad then, standard time is 6.9 for the dsg, i do realise the dsg shows better times, but being just FWD thats quite a good time i would expect!

Yeah man deffo keep me updated!, i guess i would need to change the recirc valve as they are known to go?

05 and its done over 100k miles,

JJ.

Yeah mine is an 05 as well, seems that JJs think alike haha! I think because of the mileage you might have to check out a few other things like pcv, cam follower and other weaknesses in the TFSI. Seen a few threads on here about them which might be of some use.

In response to your original questions:

I have seen that on this forum a fair few people seem to go for the Revo CAI for performance.

There is a Forge upgrade that replaces the original intercooler, Forge Twintercooler which is in addition to the original and also the S3 intercooler which is a replacement. Bound to be a few others but those are the ones I know.

On VAG turbo engines the majority of the time there will be performance benefits from getting a full turbo back exhaust and if you are worried about sound get a resonated one. Not sure about the MOT side of things as we don't have it over here.

I'm sure if I have got anything wrong somebody will correct me.

yeh i think id prefer to replace the original FMIC rather than add to it, id prefer to just get something bigger with lots of future upgrade potential, something that can decently handle the K04 for future.

JJ

Ths or s3 intercooler.. ull get quicker spool on the s3 fmic

But does the s3 one have future upgrade quality if i upgrade to a k04 in future?

JJ

well if u are only going for a K04 then yes it is enough.. a friend golf R with stock FMIC is doing 3.22 0-60

however if you want to go 3071 or 3076r (bigger turbos) id suggest the THS FMIC for better cooling...
