I Currently have pilot sport 3 michelin - probably from factory done 64k miles now.

Noticed today front passenger tyre in bad condition and rear tyre already has bad wall and puncture repaired 6 months back.

I think it is time to get all 4 new tyres (Quattro 2.0T FSI)

235/40 ZR 18 95Y currently installed.

Michelin Pilot Sport 3



- what ones shall I get though? Should I get the same rating as well?

"From the factory", by that do you think they are the original tyres ?!?!?!

tyreman.co.uk I got 4x Vredesteins for around £450 fitted. They are amazing tyres.
 
I have the Dunlop sportmax rt 235 40 18 fitted on my A4 DTM Im happy with them :yes:

Stick to the road well even in the wet and corners, I got mine at £140 a tyre fitted from kwik fit just hagle with them - Goodyear F1 look good too these would be my second choice

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's, long name i know, but i've not had better tyres for sheer grip, made my michelins (hard rubber i think) look like "Reginald remoulds"! Pirelli P Zero rosso were ok before that, but the goodyears did win Auto Express the best tyre 2012.

I've ran Dunlop Sportmaxx's and Toyo Proxes T1R's on my DTM and both were amazing tyres. I'm probably going to stick with the Toyo's for Nurburgring-ing all Summer though.
 
Good year Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's 100% mate wouldn't pick any other tyre for my saloon, Phenomenal tyre in all weather, hands down the best tyre out there and can be bought for as little as £130 :)
 
thanks I reckon at this stage Goodyear Eagle F1 it will be :)

Priced at around £160 fitted, although I could get them for £130 ish and get them fitted somewhere

the goodyears are around £160-£172 fitter per tyre on various websites such as etyres and blackcircles.

but on camskill they are priced at £131 per tyre without being fitted but out of stock

that is a big saving isn't it!?
 
i used to run Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy's but switched to Toyo Proxes T1 Sports after finding out that Audi now fit these to the RS3 and RS5 as std.

Love them, and at £130 a corner they are a few quid cheaper than the Assy's too

The price for everything is allways 20% less when they are out of stock ! its called a spoiler tactic -- traditional retail practice

Has anyone tried Hankook v12 on the A4 yet -- I have them on a Puma and they have very good grip particularly in the wet and they actually have some tread unlike some other manufacturers who supply almost slicks . I got stuck the other week with all 4 wheels spinning on just a couple of inches of snow when my Dunlops just filled in the tiny slots turning them into slicks . This never happened on my previous quattro fitted with now unobtainable ( in UK ) Fulda tyres

I have the Dunlops on my 3.2 Quattro and they hold the road well.
The rears are due for changing soon though so like you I'm not decided what to go with.
 
I have stuck pirelli rosso's on my 3.2 quattro, but sized down to the 225/ 40 18, instead of the 235, Has not made any difference to the ride at all. did a long distance last year from spain to London without any problems and they are still going strong. The main reason for down size was that I had two brand new 225's at home and have used stretched tyres on wide rims before, very popular on the V Dub scene. so going down a fraction size is a lot cheaper then sourcing the higher priced rearer 235's
 
Vredestein Ultrac Vorti 235/35/19 bit of resonance with the radio off motorway driving but the grip in the wet is phenomenal! :wtf:

What width alloys have you? If 8.5" use 235/40/18 If 9" like mine (TTS alloys) use 245/40/18
P Zeros have narrower sidewall so clears front suspension arms better.
Dunlops are poor.
Michelin PS3 used by Porsche are great, but noisy

I think Goodyear Eagle F1 or Continental Sport Contact 5 are best

Hi,

I'm not sure on the width of the alloys but I know the tyre size on here is correct.

I noticed that there is two goodyear eagle f1 tyres one is called asymmetric 2 the other 1 which ones shall I go for?

The goodyears are clearly the BEST choice out there but also very pricey. The cheapest way of doing it would be via camskill and get them delivered directly to the garage - but there are some risks with this so I will need to speak to the local garage first but with this method I worked out I can save £120 - £140 - and they also have this offer on petrol atm (camskill) something about £10 for every tyre or something.

the other tyres to get are these

I seen these on other sites and the price isn't that bad :)

Decisions I shall speak to the garage first - if they say no I might have to take the tyres down myself
that would be a mission wouldn't it? :) then I am left with the old tyres and leave them there etc but I might not want to do this

Dont forget the £12 delivery charge ^^ Works out to £3 a tyre.

And its the Good year Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 is the ones you want.

The Good year do grip very good but are soft and wear quickly.

Were as the Vred do last abit longer. And believe they dont compromise on grip either.

thanks they both have a good rating obviously the goodyear are better

difficult decision still thinking
 
Proxes T1-R's always been good for me... Pirelli P Zero's cleaned up at last year's Evo summer test and that's what Audi put on my 3.0TFSI....
