Just wanted to check that 19x8.5 ET 45 was the best option for the S3?

Looks like the inner rim would be 7.7mm closer to the hub and outer rim 17.7mm further out into the arch.

Any issues with rub, brake clearance etc?

Running a 225/35 or 235/35 tyre?

Mine were pretty much spot on, ET running 4mm spacers and 225 Falkens and no rubbing - 19x8.5J ET44 225/35R19 Falken 452s

Running 4mm spacers all round? With ET44 and 4mm then that's effectively ET40.

Did you need spacers for clearance or looks?

The wheels are ET48, so 4mm spacers made it ET44. I had to fit them to clear the R8 brakes I was running at the front, but there wasn't much clearance with the standard calipers either.

Ah, thanks. So overall ET of 44, so with stock brakes then I should be good with ET45 as that's only 1mm less clearance.

When you say there wasn't much clearance with standard calipers was that with or without the spacers?

19x9 et52 with 5mm spacers all round and 215/35/19's with not rubbing issues. Will be spaceing the rears out 10-12mm though soon for a better stance.

Thanks, that's so overall offset would be ET47 on a 9 inch rim, meaning they must sit pretty close to the hub?

ET50 8.5X19" BBS CH with 235/35/19 Pirelli P Zero Nero tyres.

Thanks.

Sounds like the ET45 will fit a treat from all this.

Tempted by 235/35 for the extra padding!

I'm running 19x8.5 ET 45 with 225/35/19 rubber. A little bit of stretch but no need for spacers as they fill the arches perfectly.

i have Eibach springs on the front and rub under heavy load a little, glad I didn't go 235.

That was without the spacers. 8.5J ET45 will clear the brakes.

I would go for 235 if i were you as it gives you just a tiny bit of extra protection from those nasty kerbs and pot holes.

Thanks for all the replies. Idea of more rim protection (and more pot hole/ UK road protection) appeals - so may go 235/35.

Looking at VMR 710s, £850 for genuine 19s or about £500 for reps???

Aston Martin DB9s 19x8.5 all round, 215/35/19 Falkens. ET50.3 front & ET42.3 rear.

Love that colour, would have had a grey s3 if I could find one.
