Having mixed feelings as i've put the A3 up for sale and placed a deposit on a BMW 118d M Sport.

Would have gone for a newer A3 with the CR engine, but they are still too expensive unless you go for mega miles ex company car hacks.

The 118d should save me around £600 a year on fuel and road tax which is a major decision in the change. Got a very tidy 08 plate with only 18k miles :)

congrats mate ive had a 1 series although it was only a 116i it was quite nice

I felt that the audi structure was stronger but the bmw had a great drive, and as soon as you buy it HAVE THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS CHECKED AND CHANGED as my chain jumped 2 cogs and bent a valve sorry for the shock buy have that done pal

Ok, will do, thanks for that advice. I agree that the Audi feels like a stronger heavier car, but the BMW is a whole different ball game when it come to the handling ;) The fact its going to be cheaper to run is a bonus!

I had m sport lemon leather seats in my blue ES and steering wheel plus aftermarket angel eyes loved it but needed more power and got an audi

If i PX it will be £3k, but going to try and sell privately to minimise the difference!

Might be a daft question mate but if its 3K to change then it will take 5years to get that back based on £600 pa saving on running cost??

FWIW though Im a fan of modern beemers, nicely put together in my experience, was impressed with my previous 3 er and would indeed have another.

Enjoy
