Just thought I would introduce myself and say hi.

Ive just picked up my S3 after coming from 2 RS4's in a row. I was originally after a RS3 but couldn't find the deal and spec I was after. Got a good bid on the 4 and then saw this and was really impressed.

Wheels looked too small so started hunting for a set of RS3's to keep it OEM but with no luck todate. I know how people feel about reps and gloss but picked a set up and I really like them now they are on. Dropped the front on Eibach pros as well.

will upload more as I do stuff but here's a couple. One on pick up day and one from today as I was off on a dog walk.

I take it you went from 18 to 19. How much did that 1" cost for what looks like the same wheel?

Haha...thanks for the warm welcome ! Yes It's the same wheel and yes 1" but it makes a lot of differencein the flesh. They are also ET45 so no need for spacers and sit nicely in the arch.

Hello mate, and welcome!

Coming from two RS4's and looking to get an RS3, I reckon it won't be too long until you get a 2+/3 remap to get the S3 up to the sort of performance you're used to.

They may only be an inch bigger, but your S3 looks great with those wheels - very nice indeed.

I also have an Ibis White S3, but sadly still on the OEM 18" wheels.

I've always been put off with the stories of additional weight and poor handling with larger wheels, so you'll have to let me know how you get on and what you think...

Welcome aboard pal!

As above,I think you'll be looking for a bit more power shortly.

As to the question above, handling on 19" rims was one if many reasons for me going to wider, lighter 18" rims and the grip and handling are vastly improved.

Hi Guys, and thanks for the welcome.

Wheels seem to be handling fine but not really pushed it too hard so I will save my judgment on 19’s for a bit.

Power wise I was actually surprised at how nippy it is. I may look at the remap route in due course but I need to get the RS3 out of my head first. I still haven’t found the one I want but the more I live with the S3 I am thinking I will keep it for a bit and maybe spend the extra on bringing this up to speed.

MRC did some work on my last RS4 and they were fantastic so may speak to them and see what they can do. I do miss the sound of the V8 and I don’t think I can improve the sound of the S3 a great deal but I will keep searching this site for what people have achieved.

How do people find the MPG after stage one ? much of a drop or not ? Not that I am too worried after the RS4 struggling to achieve anything above 18mpg but just curious.

The Eibach springs on the front are fantastic. I was really worried as I have some bad experiences with springs on previous cars. I had a Clio RS200 for a bit as a track car and I felt sea sick every time I drove it. The Eibach’s have hardly changed the ride and got the stance just right. I would recommend these and not too expensive for just the front.

About to fit cruise next ( anyone know of a good guy in Chichester/Portsmouth area ?)and then do the interior lights to LED’s.

My plates arewaiting to go on but the V5 is taking forever.

That depends how you drive. S1 does not automatically mean poor MPG, but it doen't improve it at all. I hit low 30's easily and mid 30's on a long run.

I was getting around 29-30mpg from mine even at Stg4,and not much different at Stg1,but that was a definite improvement over stock mpg figures.

Welcome!

Definitely looks better with the 19'' wheels!

Car looks immense!

These reps are now for sale with goodyear assy tyres all with 5mm. The wheels have only covered 500 miles. tried to post in the for sale section but keeps crashing.Paid over 1300 with tyres but looking for quick sale so £600. PM me if interested.
