Porsche Cayenne Six Pots

Sure mate, I'll drop you a pm tomorrow with who to contact or where to find the bits.

Word of caution tho, you'll need to carefull with wheel choice, spacers might be required.

Im going from 5 spoke sline alloys to 3sdm 0.06's on the 18th of this month with 20mm spacers all round so I hope I can fit these bad boy Porsche brakes :)

I was thinking of the same wheels ,they are a chunky wheel ,so not sure if they will fit.Where are you based it might be worth us meeting up to try your wheel on my car before you try and source the brakes.I will have to wait a bit for another set of wheels, just ordered clutch kit from U.S.,but at least i would know too.

I'm considering doing this conversion and currently I have BBS CH012 with ET35. Will it fit nicely or do I need spacers too.

Not really sure tbh, from the wheels I've tried it's all down to the shape of the inside of the wheels. The fact you're already at ET35 will limit you're spacer options.
Only thing I can suggest is you trawl through some forums and see if anyone else runs them.

A lot of good info in this thread, a B5 with cayennes and CHs on this page

cayenne brake upgrade ???? what rotors???? - Page 17

Sorry to start this again but i am looking to do this conversion and wondered if there was any other discs to use other than the ML55. I have the 18z callipers but thats all at the moment.

All depends on how much you want to spend?

There are two companies that I know of that do proper 2 piece discs specifically made for the conversion, not cheap(£700-£800) but a hell of a lot lighter so very good if you're performance orientated as the MLs weigh a ton!!

I've changed my MLs for S5 discs for clearance reasons. S5s have a taller hat so I can mount my calipers a further 2mm inwards, they're also a bit thinner so a shade lighter than MLs, they bolt straight on with no mods at all, even the retaining screw lines up.
Only potential issue is the difference in thickness, 30mm instead of 32mm. If the pads wear right down the pistons might extend out too far beyond their recommended travel so I'll need to keep an eye on them over the next couple of years, won't be an issue to me as I don't do a lot of miles, rarely use the full might of the 18zs and I'm constantly messing with the car so can keep an eye on them. 2mm difference might not even be an issue but I can't find any info on a minimum thickness Brembo recommend so just something to bear in mind.

MLs are cheap, tried and tested tho, whats making you think of using something different?

Was just wondering now with more cars out since these first started if there was other discs that could be used with no mods. I only use the car really at weekends so as you say keep checking pads but like the idea of s5 discs. Where did you find the spacers for the bolts from.

Hi,

I've been running mine for a few years now with ecs 2 piece discs and I'm now looking for new discs but don't fancy the price of new 2 pieces!

Is it the V6 or V8 s5 discs that work? I wouldn't mind some drilled or grooved ones (for looks more than performance!) and I also like the idea of not having to get them machined!

Also I'll be needing new pads but havn't got a clue where to start when trying to work out which I have at the minute and what I need to replace them with, so a point in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Just used a couple of stainless washers between the upright and the caliper to move the caliper inwards slightly mate.

Not sure if they're V6 or V8, I just bought them from the dimensions. I got grooved and drilled Mtecs from Ebay for £100 delivered, bit cheaper than ECS ones!!

This time I went for 17Z pads and they fit much better on the disc, the 18Z pads I've had on were quite badly lipped due to the slight overhang.

Just went for cheap Mintex ones, they served me well last time round.

Sorry to jump in on this but does anyone know if this set up can be used on a a4 b6 advant as been looking at them but thought I mite need a holder conversion kit or summit can anyone help I'm not to good with all the short term thing so if it is possible can someone make a list of what it is you need cheers guys

Yours will be the same as our B7s mate, no carriers etc needed. Calipers, discs+pads, lines and mounting bolts, most of the info's in the thread.

Brill cheers buddy where are the lines from ? And the bolts buddy sorry none makes sence to me I'm a bit thick :) and new to audi

Would you know if the porsche callipers come out any further than the standard S4 callipers once fitted if i use the S5 discs like you are ajax1976. Just i am looking at new wheels which have a concave on them but been told once i fit these brakes then wheels are very limited. Would you have any pictures of how you fitted them. Also would anyone know if the rear cayenne callipers can be fitted as i have a set of them aswell and would like them all matching if possible.

Was just looking on eurocar parts and looked at audi s7 4.0 2012 and there front discs are coming up at 356mm and 34mm thick and what looks like perfect fit other than being 6mm to large. Would this extra 6mm be to much just hoping these would clear as would be perfect fit. Part No.: 104442166.

Does the Cayenne not use a separate inboard hand brake caliper? If so you'd need to fabric a twin rear caliper set up, I have seen it done but to me it's boarding on a pointless mod. Most of us upgraded to 300mm S4 rear to balance out the front to rear balance.

I don't know but I'm almost certain the cayennes will protrude far more than S4 fronts, they're huge in comparison. Wheel choice is a pot luck affair, offsets, spoke shape all play a major part.

Pretty sure 350 is as large as you can go, the most important dimension to get right is the offset from the rotor to the mounting face. This will get the rotor sitting central in the caliper. There are posts in the caliper that you ideally need to get the rotor centralised in, give or take a mm. Also if you go with a rotor with a high bell the disc will foul on the upright. I'd stick to the MLs if you're unsure.

Ok thanks for the info. Will look at the ml then and go from there. As i already have the S4 seems best to leave the rears alone unless i can work an easy way of doing it more for looks than anything else as to match the fronts. Guess its fit the callipers then try wheels that fit lol going to be a lot of testing

Hi guys , I just bought some z18 brembo with pads, discs and lines for my B7 2.0 TFSI but the discs are 350 will they fit? or i will need 345 ? They are MB ML perforated discs .Thanks
