Evening All...

just after a bit of advice and knowledge... im looking at putting my 05 2.0tdi on coilovers (budgetish)

Just wondering if you have any advice on what to go for or what to stay away from ? theres a few im thinking at the minute that i can get on ebay etc either the likes of JOM, or fk's somthing like that.

any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Marcus

You have to weigh up what you want in the long run, is the car a keeper? Is comfort important? For me I'd go budget purely for the fact that I've used them before on my 8l, I found the ride quite comfortable and I was quite low, all for under £200, that said, if money wasn't a deciding factor, I'd go for "the best".

Put bilstiens on mine and it has transformed the car for me, but they aren't cheap but i plan on keeping the car a good few years.

I recently fitted some AP coilovers which i purchased from DPM, the ride quality is excellant for a <500 pound coilover set.

If your keeping the car and you do not want to spend £££ on coilovers springs would do, however if you only want coilovers JOM's and FK are both budget alot of members have fitted them, some have no problems and a few threads i read pointed out bad points about the sets.

I personally think avoiding the FK and JOM's and going for a better set such as the v-maxx and AP is a better choice.

Weitec GT hicons, think they're around the 600 mark now. Got a set on my 2.0t Quattro. And it transformed the car! They're made by KW so you know they're gonna be well made!!! Buy nice, don't buy twice!!

Cheers had a look little above my price range...

ive decided on some FK highsport off DPM for 385 i think just going to ring them tommorow, does any one know best place to get adjustable drop links ?

Dpm sell them too

I've recently bought a set of FK highsports from DPM. After three months all 4 dampers are knocking badly, I'm having to refit my old shocks. DPM are not willing to refund, only send out another set... once the faulty ones have been sent back to FK's headquaters in Germany. Not impressed at all! Based on my personal experience, i'd avoid!
