Looking at a set of RS5 wheels that are 9J by 19, ET33 with 235/35/19 tyres. From memory the standard S3 wheels are 8J by 18, ET50 with 225/40/19 tyres.

Used an online comparison tool and it came up with this:

So think they'll be OK size wise, only other thing is that they'll have a centre bore of 66.6 which means ill need spigot rings.

Anyone had any experience of running these? Assume just like a spacer - held in by doing the wheel nuts up tight!

Standard S3 tyres are 225/40 R18 not 19's.

Typo on the 225/40/19! Used correct 225/40/18 on the comparison tool!

Mainly reps. I use Motorsport Wheels in Stockport. The lads have fitted alloys to all of my VAG cars over the years. I know people shrug at reps but all the ones ive had have been good quality. I did have Momo wheels on my A6 once and they were ****** awful.

These are genuine audi wheels I'm looking at, but S5 fitment - hence the bigger bore.

The reps had a bigger bore to satisfy different models so im sure you can get spigot rings to fit. Which A5 alloys are you fitting ? Also be careful with 235 tyres as mine did grind out over bumps.

They are the RS6 style (twin 5 spoke), assume as they've got 235/35 that they were on an a3 or something before.

What caused the rubbing, they have a slightly smaller rolling radius. Just because of the offset and them sticking out a little further?

Did you wind the coil overs down pretty low?

That was on standard springs mate. Rubbed on the rear torx screws inside the arch. Its a common thing if you do a search, some remove them some alter the camber. Some have different offsets

Standard S3 wheels are 225/40/18 7.5J!
Go try to fit 9J with 235 tyres,i dare you:lmfao:

Thanks for that, changed the values online, now shows that they stick 'in' on the inner side by 2mm (would have thought there was 2mm of clearance?) However they poke out 36mm. Makes sense is they are 1.5" (38mm) wider rims. Think 36mm of poke would look ridiculous. Might buy them for my S4 though!

cheapest spigot rings on ebay will do, had them on my a6 to allow fitting of a5 wheels for last 6 months,

p.s. a5 wheels stick out loads, even in 17" size on my a6 they are only just covered by the arches

Think ill give these a miss for the S3, might buy them for my S4 though!

I guess to get 19x8 rims (which a 235/35 fits better anyway) then ill have to look at reps.
