1. Left foot on brake
2. Turn ESP OFF
3. Hit the accelerator all the way (revs should limit to 3k)
4. Take a deep breath
5. Remove left foot and watch the world go backwards.

Enjoy!

It doesn't work as well on winter tyres!

I would also add hit sport button for added aural pleasure to macdaddy's list

Be careful launching, look out for your prop shaft in the rear view mirror haha!

....what does it mean if I did all of the above but when I plant the accelerator the revs go up to +- 3000 but don't stay there? it drops back down and there is a big time lag before it launches?

thanks.

If it drops back down then you must be releasing the accelerator.
You have to plant the right foot all the way down and keep it there, the revs will sit somewhere near 3k and the engine will rumble and make weird noises like it's running on 3 cylinders.
Then release the brake and watch everything go blurred in your peripheral vision.

Only then can you change the position of the accelerator to suit your needs.

Hi. Today i tried launch control in my rs3 8p for the 1st time. Car sat at 3k revs and when i let the brake off it just kept spinning all four tyres and going nowhere fast. Has that happened to anybody on this group or could it be a traction control issue?

Sounds like cheap rubber to me, what you running? The electronics are only as good as the interface they use with the road surface. I could well imagine somthing cheap isn't going to function well with launch

Thought as much myself then had brand new conti's fitted. Still spinning. Someone mentioned a recall a couple of years ago on the abs pumps for the s3/rs3 08on. Any ideas?

when you are disengaging traction control are you holding the button or just pressing it. I don't think it will launch properly with the traction fully disengaged but I haven't tried it. Mine launches perfectly on sport traction control setting which is just the press activation.

Mind I have only launched 4 times in the time I have owned it and its been fine each time. I don't feel the need to use it as it goes like a rocket form the line anyways haha

It was Jay, yes. I know of a couple of owners (both 12-plate cars) who had seat mods in 2012/13 to their rattling passenger sports seat; seat mod done only after customer complaint. Again, check with your Owner Dealer to find if the update was applied to your car and if not make the complaint and check if the update remains valid.

haha im sick of giving the seat a nudge when driving to stop it clicking! im going to give them a call tomorrow anyways as im certain my DSG still isn't quite right, I will let you know the outcome of both when I speak with them :)

Thanks for the advice on updates. Will look into that. Regarding the launch control fault it so happens that my haldex clutch pump is faulty. Booked it in with audi. Hope that sorts it out. Sick of it spinning.
