I know the dealer has sold it. I wonder if they sh1t themselves when they boot it with the stage 1 on :sm4:

Either way someone got a ****** good car.

Thanks Blackie! To be honest i didn't sh!t myself too much, i just thought it was normal for an S3 to pull like that - it's my first one! Did you change the wheels down to 18's with 235 rubber? Apparently the original owner had 21's on it?! Has it got different springs on it or anything?

Hi Dom

Did they tell you its already had a shark stage 1 remap ? Thats saved you £500

it didnt have 21inch wheels it had silver 18 inch which are in my shed. The black wheels did have 235 tyres on as they were on my A3 which i part exd to get the Jaffa. I only ever had rub every so often as only drive it with myself in mostly
It was my baby so you will find it has no marks on it.
if you need to know anything else about it fire away

The car itself is absolutely beautiful man, I can tell it certainly was your baby and you took care of it - I've already washed and waxed it and I've only had it a week and a half!
Dunno if you've seen my other post n pics, but the rubbing happened with 2 passengers and a full tank. BMW select had put 4 brand tyres on before I bought it - same tyres as you had. They're now swapping all 4 to 225's!
They advertised it as completely stock. I definitely didn't know about the remap - that has saved me a bundle! What did that involve?
Excuse the noob questions - this is my first foray into a performance car!
Is the suspension standard, or anything else that is different from stock?

Yes everything else is stock. It did have a twintake and a milltek exhaust but i sold the filter. The exhaust i still have.

it has had a full wheel alignment and oil change at awesome and i fitted new plugs in it at the same time.

when i took the car in all they did was stick the plates on and advertise it. So far its taken me 3 weekends to get my new car anything like the paintwork on the Jaffa

our very own forum wheel guru N8 did the remap

I might go for the rest of the stage 1 at some point in the future, but it is quite enough for now!!
I've only been on the forum for a couple of weeks now, so only just starting to talk to people. But I've seen many of N8's posts!
Is the remap and extra 35bhp or so?
What are you wanting for the millek?
I've already put the gloss bezel mk2 rns-e in it!

Its good to know that the Jaffa is still on the forum. dom, you have a good car there, and welcome to the forum.:) x

Thanks Sandra, after a week and a half of owning it I already definitely know that. This was the car I was waiting the 2 longest week's of my life for - it was worth the wait! The forum has been brilliant - learning so much about my car!

The remap should see you to about 300/310 roughly. Out of interest where did you get a gloss black RNSE surround? Think I'm reading it wrong though and you've got the mk2 RNSE.

Every now and then you cme across a special car, and the jaffa is one of those cars. I remember when blackie got the car, he has looked after that car since the ay he got it, and its so good to know it has another owner that will love it as much as he did. :) x

Could the dealer/audi have possibly returned the ECU back to stock with an update or anything? Would have thought you would have realised it felt surprisingly quick!

The nav that was it was the mk1 - had the CD/TV button. Got it from and installed at OEMretrofits in Bradford - part ex'd the old one.
Good bit of info about the remap - thanks XFi.

Dunno if they did or not Ben, I just thought it was normal - it's my first S3!

Nah, Ben they want the quickest and cheapest way of selling a car. The Jaffa didnt need the big sell it did that on its own. Apart from new tyres they have done nowt apart from stick 4k on the price.

i had it mot,d a week before part ex and made sure it was mint before it went to the dealer, call me mad but i expect my car to go in as i expect mine to come out

You say you've still got the miltek, blackie? How much are you selling it for? I'm about at BMW select getting tyres changed next saturday.

Just a thought. If the dealer has sold as standard, does map need to be declared on insurance? Can they tell when map was loaded onto the car?

Reason I ask is my car came with a bluefin under the seat and so can prove I didn't purchase it but if they can tell when I uploaded then I won't bother till after my warranty expires and insurance is renewed.

Its a really valid point. And would be interesting to find out from someone who knew for sure if the maps were timestamped etc. Surely you could edit/hack/call it what you like, the date/time of the map too

If its like my old A6 then the map sits in the upper memory block. They know its there at the main dealer but cant tell when it was flashed.
Dom send us a pm about the stuff as im only 10 mins away from the dealer. Incidentally they still have not refunded my road tax or sent my service book yet and im getting a bit annoyed with them.
I did tell the dealer it had a map on it so they obviously decided not to mention it.

There is one issue Dom. Its the same issue that Jen&Abyss had when they knocked the car back.

If you check thro the history on the forum they did a deal with Guildford Audi but when the car arrived it had laquer coming off on the bumper near the left fog. Anyway before i bought it it had the work done under warranty( the info is in the grey book). Before i decided to part ex i noticed it was coming off again so i took it to Audi Bolton to be sorted under warranty. They told me the warranty was with Guildford Audi and i would need to return it to them to have it repaired.
Personally i thought it was a **** poor cop out on Audis side but didnt persue it as i decided to part ex for the Stormtrooper.

Blackie, it wasn't that dave fella who you dealt with there by any chance was it?! He seemed to come up with any answer/excuse to stuff. Like about the road tax, at first he'd said i had to get 12 month myself cos you wanted to take it with you, then changed his tune after almost 2 and a half weeks that i could buy it off you so i could take the car!!
I've paid them the remaining road tax - they had to adjust the final invoice.
They said that the service book for the jaffa only came back on the morning of the 21st - the day i bought it.
They said absolutely nothing about the remap either on their autotrader ad or when i went in to view it.

I agree with you on their cop out - surely Audi is Audi, whichever dealership it is?! Would the warranty be on the fixed paintwork specific job? Looking through the grey book the actual warranty on the car ran out July last year - if it is the standard 3 years that is.

Wait a minute, just found top up warranty bit of paper in grey book!

Interesting to know.
Initially when i sold the car the deal was i had the tax as it had my plate on it. Then whilst i was away in Egypt i got an email saying that they would pay me the difference for the tax (£187 i think). I have yet to receive this along with the service book that was left out of the wallet. They say its at the branch and will send it but after 2 emails im still waiting
I suspect i will be calling tomorrow to ask in person.
Yes it was Dave that i told about the map. I told him on 2 separate occasions.

The deal you had was exactly as they told me! Then they told me i could buy it off you - presumed they had asked you first if this was ok.
You're waiting on the service book for your private plate still?
Check your pm fella, ignore the fact there are 2 messages saying the same thing - didn't realise you had to check the "save a copy of message in sent items folder" box to see sent items! Still getting used to this!

Regarding the warranty

I got an extra 12 months buying from an audi dealer & before i sold it i could have had an extension. When you come up this weekend ill dig it out, perhaps you can extend it thro change of ownership
