Recently my seat belt chime and warning light have stopped working and usually I wouldn't mind because the chime annoys me! However my MOT is around the corner and I am sure this would fail. Plugged in VCDS and no fault codes at all and I haven't been doing anything to any fuses or under the seat but I may well remove seat tomorrow just to be sure its all connected as I do move the seat forwards and backwards and maybe got caught and has partially disconnected or fully. Any other advice would be much appreciated.

You sure you haven't disabled it with vcds?

I was under the impression that disabling it only got rid of the chime, but left the warning light?

I must be wrong as NHN knows his beans, you learn something every day.

Seat belt occupancy warning light or chime is not part of MOT.

Be aware new MOT rules have just come into play as of March 2013 and inclued alot of new checks

Im a tester. There is nothing for occupancy light or chime. A lot of cars dont have these, and theres no real way to know if it should have it or not as a tester.

That's good to know as I've got my MOT coming up and disabled mine. Always take my belt off when driving round tight car parks etc and the chime was doing my head in!
